As the title says, I'm working on a new 2 stroke sound.
Here you have the current version 0.1.2 HERE (https://www.mediafire.com/file/95z1cxutalhxr5k/2Stroke-PacoPastor.rar) 2 folders for 125 and 250.
Samples are from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOfZXcEKwg0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOfZXcEKwg0)
I made it with MaxSCL 1.2 tool. Avaliable here http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2082.0 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2082.0)
I will keep working on the sound but I would like you take my samples and my .scl file as a starting point to do your own sounds and look how the software works.
The point is take samples and make loops about, as much rpm-ranges as is possible. The samples must be the most linear possible, as you know it's difficult to take clean, good and linear sounds. I recommend you to see this video to know how to work a sample with Adobe Audition.

excited for this Paco. I hope you come back to making tracks as well, your previous released ones are awesome. Thanks!

As soon I have more free time. I have some tracks ready to release. Just waiting for some tweaks in the objects
Sounds pretty good Paco thanks, a step in the right direction for sure.
Sound awesome Paco, if I may say something about it, I would love to hear a more open field kinda sound. Is there a way to remove the echoing effect (engine running in the garage)? Other than that nice one!
Link Updated. A few tweaks to the tune and rpm-ranges.
Interesting man, it's hard huh.. I made one before and everyone told me it sounded rubbish, more like a nitro RC car!
I'd say yours is on the right track, but it sound like there are 2 engines running at once, slightly different tone to each other.
Excited for this Paco! Hate the stock 2 stroke sound.
Is anyone generous enough to make a youtube video of MXB with these sounds? Would love to hear it :-[
these are amazing!
Is there a guide somewhere on installing the sound to a bike in game?

I thought I explained how to do it. Sorry.
Go to your favorite two stroke and put into it all the .wav files and engine.scl, before that backup all the .wav files and engine.scl
I provided both 250 and 125 in order to match with bike rpm.
man, great job!
Really neat. Wonder what makes the echo sound, like a bi-plane. If we can get that off, this is a huge upgrade to the sound.
Thank you BadStar! I will be improved. And soon will be more sounds. For the 4stroke too.
The sounds are great but the echo/reverb is due to the way the sample was recorded. Knowing a bit about audio engineering Paco, I highly doubt you can fix that :/
The recording was I think taken in an enclosed area, thus echoing effect. There should be an adjustment that you can do in a sound application if you have one (I may be worng).
I think the echo is from the audio editor..not the video. it sounds that way to me at least
listen to the files.. "mid" has the echo
any ideas?

also, cant open any of the bikes, I get a .cfg error right off the top

You can trim the tail of an echo or reverb using a noise gate, but you can't easily remove the reverb that runs during a long sound such as an engine. You could try EQ'ing out the frequency but you might remove too much of the noise itself. It's a tough one..
Really in audio, you need to start with the cleanest and best sample or recording possible.
Hopefully we can have a clean recording in an open field to eliminate that echoing sound or maybe some echo-filtering setup even in in-house recording. I know it's tough and takes time and resources but maybe there's a low cost way of doing it. Hopeful here. :D

A bad recording is a bad recording.. All you need is a good mic or two and outside would probably do it.
Anything recorded on a phone or even a cheap to mid range camera inside will have horrible echo. GoPro's are no good as the sound quality is not the aim of the GoPro. Outside recordings might be better, mics are getting better on low end electronics but they will still be missing a lot of frequencies that you wont notice while watching the video, but as soon as you get the sounds in game you will start to notice the problems.
you tube has a lot of really good recordings.. just search and they are there.
the trick is to not allow the game to digitize the sound (guessing)
Don't expect any sound mod releases from me.. I can't even get the samples to work in max's program lol..
but I'm having fun goofing around with the sounds anyhow!

way to easy to hit rev limiter in mx bikes.. messes up the sound..but

@badstar if you pull the 4 stroke sound mod off man, it's gonna be awesome. That rev limiter you used is sweet good job. +1

Do sound mods check out online or will I crash when joining?
Not sure I can go back to stock 4 banger sound now..even with my cheapo mod, lol
1st attempt at a power band/on the pipe sound.. meh

Sounds does not affect online playing. :)

I'm not going back to stock sounds..ahah

Really good, maybe the blending could be a bit more natural, try to do a perfect loop. Good start man.
dude you nailed it. good work
I agree on blending. Just fyi: I only modified the top end, so NO efforts to blend have been made for those vids.

You only have to open the program and open a .scl file located inside each bike folder(The program needs physics and tyres to do the job). Piboso's .wav are encrypted so, they won't work in MaxSCL. Another tip: .wav files should be 16bit.
Thx paco.. I'll continue messing with it after work
I've yet to get past the .cfg error that is immediate upon folder loading..arg
Ill stick with my bassackwards ways of modding it for now.. >:(

If you are opening the .scl file from the bikes/bike whatever you should go to tyres and unpack .pkz
Holy sh*t the 2 stroke 250 sounds are spot on
is it just me or is there no audio for the rev limiter? and it sort of sounds like there are people riding around me
