General Discussion / Re: MX Bikes beta2

Thanks all, once you get the whip down it's pretty doable anywhere, still f*****g hard mind lol..

PiBoSo I don't mind if you want to put the video on the vids page - honored! Do you want me to remove the music? This would allow it to be played in Germany too..

Will be releasing the tracks soon, currently working the objects for TNMX, and the other one from the vid with the white fences and trees needs some tweaks now beta 2 is out so glad I waited!

Bug Reports / Re: (BETA 2) Profiles arent saving

I don't know whether it's related, but sometimes the game loses or messes up my controller calibration.. It still works, but it's whacky, like it becomes super sensitive. I go to calibrate and the markers are already to the extremes and slightly moving before I've touched a stick..

I'm here, I can see all the forums again! Thanks Pib.. 8)

I still see some regular names currently online.. Think people are just waiting patiently, now they've played beta1 that's the hype over, should now hopefully start to see some regulars back and the core community develop.

Really liking beta 2 so far, everything feels so much more stable but also the bike seems to react to the heightmap more which is nice for noisy tracks. Haven't really figured out how to whip yet, sometimes I can nail it perfectly, sometimes I end up doing barrel rolls or nosedives.. Is there a method that is intended?

Keep it up guys, and thanks for putting the work in! Definitely appreciated!!  ;D

Tracks / Re: The Gravel Pit v.1

I will upload somewhere else at some point, I'm currently learning objects though so once I've got them figured - might just skip and release a v2. I know there are some race timing problems with the current version and I have a couple of tracks waiting to release before I start that!..

Nice find damien!

Me again... sorry.

Having a bit of trouble with objects, I have them working on the track but they are missing textures.

I can see from exporting the .fbx that it has created an assets folder (I guess) called scenery with the textures, but when I run fbx2edf I see in the cmd prompt that it keeps saying - for example texture.tga is missing or does not exist..

Any ideas? I've got this far but now I am stumped... ???

Are you sure that textures are power of two?

Thanks lol..

None of the textures in the attributes folder are power of 2 lol... good modelers. I'll try again later when I'm less frustrated!

Track Editing / Re: Cameras

Thanks Steven.

It hadn't crossed my mind to look at the example track cameras..  :-[

I have played around with the fixed cam and can't get it to behave - which is a shame because you can get some really beautiful shots with it, might see if there is one used in the example's camera file.

Good to know that the cam zoom settings are already done in the 350xf cameras.cfg!

Thanks again mate, will have a play when I get some free time!  :D

Also, have been reading the GPB forum, and when looking at threads with cameras posted, people are saying something needs to change in the bikes camera file for the autozoom to work..

Is this something that's not yet fully implemented in MXB? Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Nice.

I see this quite a bit, especially on tracks with a noisy surface   ;)

Hey  :)

I have camera's pretty much understood, but I don't understand a couple of things.

Firstly, I can't seem to get autozoom to work. I set fov to 60, min fov 20, max 60, but what does reference do? I've tried setting it in between with no luck.

Edit: Forget the last question  ;)

2nd Edit: Am I missing something with fixed cams? The view works fine, but for a split second at the start and at the end it snaps to the view of the cam positioned at 0 on the track..

Thanks  :D

Track Editing / Re: Replica suggestions

Thanks guys, I have been unable to reply for a couple of days.

cdub: Yeah - after riding it for a few days it's definitely over scaled. I'm not sure right now whether to make the overall track smaller and widen, or whether to leave it. I have bowled out the first corner like you said - watching the vid it's definitely got a lot more transition than just angle. The table at the end of the rhythm is actually more angled than it looks in the vid although it's hard to get right - too much angle and it's not rideable.

I wanted to pack it up and let a couple of people test it, can I PM you a link to download and give it a try? would appreciate it! I think overall I'm happy but it would be useful to know it's close enough!

The textures are placeholder for now so they will look a lot better once the track is finished, and also obviously there are no objects, the vids really just to get a bit of feedback as to the placement of things and the scale.

I think the only slightly over sized section is the back straight step down - triple - triple - double - table. The jumps didn't look as big as this from the GoPro videos I've seen, but it was the only way I was able to get the section rideable. I've included a shot of just that section at the end for an outside perspective. This section is a lot of fun to ride though, really gives me hope for SX as in this version the section is pretty much rhythm. Lotta fun  ;D

So cdub, anyone who has ridden the track - how does it look?
