It's great we get stats on this site for Paleta, it seems to have been adopted as an official track, nice 1 Pibs, WTG Fats ;)
Hmm .. if it is like GPB, the fact the track is listed there has nothing to do with it being "offical". The track author simply has to register the track and the stats will appear.

Very nice track nonetheless !

MaX.

Thanks, and yes, I added the track code as described in the track editing thread.

Personally find anything less than 100% direct lean too unpredictable. But you get used to what works for you. Go to the extremes of the settings to find out how they work then tweak them.

OK I'm stumped, how would I go about adding a blank skin coloured texture for face_parts ? I figured I'd best ask instead of wasting a bunch of time trying to get it working lol.. Sorry

Paints / Can we skin these?
May 14, 2015, 05:29:01 PM
Hey hey,

Just wondering if there is any way to skin the protections, and also the rider skin? (Not the gear, the actual riders skin).. I'm not racist by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm also not black and like to ride as myself I guess..

Thanks  :D

Track Editing / Reflection Shader
May 14, 2015, 12:02:08 PM
Hey,

Just trying to understand the new reflection shader, I take it that it doesn't have to be used specifically on wet layers?

Changing factormin factormax and factorexp only seems to make the overall texture lighter or darker, doesn't add the same shiny sheen I see on the stock tracks and doesn't seem to catch the light.

I have added the env folder, and also dirt_wet_r.tga.

Since there is no documentation on it yet, could you explain the basics? Thanks  ;)

Nice! I too am loving the new rider animations.

One thing I am loving too is the deformation. Finally we don't have to draw ruts, so we can focus on other track details that would normally be obscured by ruts on a well ridden track!

Definitely, you can use surface masks same as texture masks. Not sure how they would blend though.

Nice Def! Makes me want a rift even more lol  8)

I've been messing about with SX ever since RC released his track in beta 2, but never managed to get anything ride-able. Since I was finished working on the site for now I thought I'd have some fun and work on a supercross track tailored to beta 3. It rides good, might be a bit oversized but it's fun enough! Couple of multi line parts as well. Done a ton of laps on this and it gets easier and easier to ride and as you can see a couple of times in the vid pretty forgiving. Only possible due to beta 3 of course!

Track Editing / Re: Surfaces question
May 07, 2015, 11:20:57 PM
Thanks for the answer.

I've used sand and gravel as it states on the wiki page, for example:

material_layer1
{
    material = gravel
   thickness = 0.10
}

and

material_layer2
{
   material = sand
   thickness = 0.6
}

(These are not examples used in one file togehter, used one surface type at a time on all layers)

Unless I'm doing something wrong, neither generate any particles and gravel gives an unbelievably high level of grip.
