The first bike is a 350F. Just the one bike, for the moment.

the helmet cam stays pretty much parallel to the terrain while we see the bike 'swinging' left and right at the bottom of the screen, compared to mxsimulator where the camera position and angle are stricly bonded to the rider that is strictly bonded to the bike.
how will mx bikes handle this?

There's an option to adjust how far the camera angle leans with the bike.
We've got a gopro style camera for replays. It won't work as playable view though, because you can't see the bike.

This thread is clearly not going anywhere, so now it's closed.

bc45 said it perfectly, in case anyone missed it:

Everybody needs to go into this forum and game open minded. Not prejudge people that you may know of from the mxs forums by their past experiences or doings. For one, everyone deserves a fresh start coming into this new game. Also, If you want the forums to be "better" than the mxs forums, talking about other people that were supposedly "bad" in other forums (Not accusing anybody) isn't going to start this community off clean. Keep doing this and it will lead straight downhill from there.

So all I'm saying, is have a little respect, and try to be nice to everyone! It's not too hard  :D

MX Simulator has bike and rider on same stick... No problems with whips there.

Personally I'm not really into this whole separating the bike and rider left/right leaning. So this is the way that MXvATV does it but it feels a bit gimmicky to me, and overcomplex.

My current control layout in MXB is:

Left Bumper : Shift Down
Left Trigger : Sit
Right Bumper : Shift Up
Right Trigger : Front Brake
Left Stick Up / Down : Rider lean F / B
Left Stick Left / Right : Bike + Rider lean L / R
Right Stick Up : Throttle
Right Stick Down : Rear Brake

I'm using auto clutch, but if I use manual clutch it goes in place of the sit control on the left trigger.
My thinking is that the triggers on the gamepad are a bit similar to the levers on the handlebars so clutch left and front brake right.

al167 your track looks fantastic! Very nice work.
I guess the split start and joker lane is a one-off layout for this event?
7:30- 8:00 of that race is epic  :)

would be cool to be able to embed youtube vids in the forums too
It's possible, there's an insert flash button.

Is it really important to have a new boot model?
It's a fair amount of work for a modder to model, unwrap, texture, weight to the rig... To have a new boot that from replay cameras looks roughly the same shape as the old one.
Are there lots of boots modelers out there? Isn't it possible to achieve acceptable results with a new texture only?

To clarify here's how things are separated (in brackets says what can be modded):

Helmet + Goggles (model & texture)
Rider kit (texture)
Gloves (texture)
Boots (texture)
Neck Brace + Body Armour (model & texture)

where will I be able to find a rider template for MXB when its out? Do you release a "stock" template we can then edit?

Yeah, you'll be able to download it from the MX Bikes website when it's ready... Soon.

I might be missing the point entirely here, but why would you want a digital brake? And why would you want to downshift ever time you pressed brake...?

???

AWood, why are you so against encryption? If you want to distribute your heightmaps models and textures, why not just make them available to download seperately? It's understandable that some people might want to have their work protected.

Pib or Snappe, could you please tell me a bit more about addings objects to a track? I saw a post somewhere that it's within a text document, but wouldn't it be very difficult to get all the objects on the right places?
I'm thinking of making a sort of GNCC track, with a forest. But if I can't get all the tree's around the track, exactly where I want them, then it's a pretty big problem for me.

No, you won't have to place all objects using only a text file, that would be a nightmare! Eventually we aim to have an editor to place obects, but for first release it will probably involve a 3d app. We're still working out the best way to go about it.
