Is there a 125cc two stroke supermoto somewhere?

There is one in the pack I released, but it needs a drastic change with weight and gearing to be of any real use, even at the shortest gearing it feels like a 125 two stroke has been stuffed into a 450 chassis.  :-[

+7 for donations only. It's in our hands that bikes market won't happen. I don't know if that expression exists in English. Correct me if I am wrong.lol  ???  ::)

Makes perfect sense to me, if the community doesn't charge for models/paints/tracks, there isn't a market to deal with in the first place.

+1 on donations. I get rather put off of gaming having to pay for content (haven't played GTA5 in ages due to it) and unless it changes something drastically about the sim/game, I don't see a point in going the extra distance to have it. Assetto Corsa has had a modding community charging for tracks for the past year or so and I just don't see a point in paying over and over and over just to have eye candy tracks. The default tracks and cars are phenomenal, and new content is always really cool, but at the cost they ask for it, I would as soon just fire up rFactor and run the same courses with a less visually stunning experience.

On the other hand, you put up a donation link, I'll happily buy you a beer/tea/coffee for the effort you put into making amazing content. I know it might sound stupid that I would rather be given the option to donate than to pay for content, but it seems more friendly to ask for contribution to the effort you put in than to strait up say, "My time is worth X amount of dollars, if you want what I made, pay me for it.". I get it, I really do, but at the same time, if you're not a big developer or someone highly skilled in what you do, there is a good chance that people will pay far more than the time, effort, and product are truly worth, creating a crappy "pay to play" experience and putting people off from wanting to participate. If there is a racing series you have to BUY a bike for, and BUY tracks for, all to compete at a totally amateur level, it'll create a niche market in a huge hurry.

Wow Grimm, a very moving story. The relationship with my father is exactly  the same.  It's motocross and bikes in general that keep us talking haha.

grimm your story broke my heart.. i called my father just after i read it and just realised how lucky i am. We have a big project on a 125gn to make it a street tracker ^^. it's not MX but... it's love of motorcycle. And it surely saved our relationship at some points. Got to keep it strong. the passion. i'm going to ride with him this week end. It didn't happened since years... ^^ thanks grimm

Dunno why I even shared that, but, it seems whenever I do tell anyone about that story they feel the gravity of life itself and the compelling urge to maintain whatever relationship they can with their father. For 15 years (he was my adoptive father) Brian and I didn't get along so well, and through all the trying times and the rough points, the one thing we both cherished in this world more than almost anything else, was two wheels. I came from a "true street" freestyle BMX background, and he was a farm boy with an old Yamaha Enduro through the same era of his life, so we both knew what two wheels being everything in life was all about. After all the BS'ing of him not having a clue how to raise a teenage boy, and me wanting nothing more than to be like the outlaw bikers I had grown up around until meeting Brian, the knee dragging, dirt riding, hooligan that he was, I had no prior knowledge of the world of motorcycles the way he showed it to me. As my teenage years came to a close we had found common ground through a few old Honda twins, and a XS650 basket case.

All through my 20's we traded riding stories and became rather fond of one another both as people, and as riders. The six months leading up to his death, we spent alot of time together both riding and just hanging out. The 3 months before his death I moved back to my parents place for alot of reasons, and brought my first "clean" build along with me, a '93 (893cc) CBR900RR streetfighter, and him and I became very close, talked about alot of things I never thought we would ever discuss and learned alot about each other that really brought to light why we butted heads like a couple of rams on a hillside for so many years. We got to close out his life, see it right through to the end, with no loose ends, nothing unsaid, a few things we didn't get to do, but thus is life, there is never enough time to accomplish it all, so we shoot for the stars and hope we land somewhere closer to there than to where we began.

2 weeks before, I had just gotten home from a ride to take some pictures of the Fireblade, closed the shop door, and Brian was working on his BMW (the one he was riding the day he passed) and I had said something to the effect of how overpowered and hilariously wheelie prone a naked 900RR is, and somewhere in the exchange about bikes I was about to pull my helmet off and he laughed a hearty, truly great laugh, and I happened to have the GoPro running. For some reason the still frame got uploaded and I lost the footage in a HD crash, but at least I have this memory frozen in time, one of the last times I made the old man throw his head back and howl with laughter at something goofy I had said.

On topic, firing up the YZ after some winter slumber, digging out the 900RR too after the swingarm/wheel swap was done.

Track Editing / Re: First track on MX Bikes
March 22, 2016, 03:12:30 PM
Niko, I get where you're coming from, but as with the world of motorcycles where my daily is spent (most times building custom bikes) if I was to buy a bike that someone else had built, changed the headlight, tail light, maybe put a new seat on it, and then touted it as, "a bike I built", I would have upset people blasting me from every direction. Every bike I've ever touched in that sense I had to be very clear who built it to begin with (and twice have had to ask explicit permission from the previous builders how much credit they expected since I work in a niche market like track makers for MXS and MXB). Quite frankly, I understand the upset from Motoboss being you didn't ask before starting a thread, could have showed what you've got so far and asked for permission to make it public. I've been in his shoes myself a few years ago when I built a genuinely stunning example of the early "north american streetfighter", and after selling it was seeing it posted up as a bike the new owner had built with no credit given to me! I started with a completely wrecked bike ready for the scrap yard and made it a traffic stopping, conversation starting, monstrosity of a bike, to say I was proud of it is an understatement... and to see it being interpreted as someone elses work bugs me to this day.  :o

I've modded the files and numbers on ALOT of 3rd party bikes that were released on GP Bikes, but not a single one has been mentioned, or released. I won't even ask for permission to do so as the bikes were not mine, and, a few modified files, all be it very different from original and pretty much leaving only tire and physical model to be original, I still feel that it would be insulting to even share them privately. My SM Bikes (cloned/altered bike) pack was never intended for release. The fact Piboso even let it happen blows my mind.  :P

Just sayin', even if it's one little part of the original track, ask permission, or, change it completely to be your own work only referencing Motoboss's track as inspiration.  ;)

The engine model in the pitbike looks like it could even be a 110cc setup, and those have claimed up to 140kph on youtube. 90-100kph seems totally reasonable.  ;)

Online racing is fun... still need to know what speed to make them though. They seem pretty fast.

Most mini moto racing I've seen hit top speeds of about 90-100kph (60mph or so). My XR100 hit a GPS indicated 57mph on a nice summer afternoon.  8)

look : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-BP2SRDrys

Something like this then?

There is a local mini moto league that kart track races street tire XR100's and two stroke 60/80's. Having it in MX Bikes would be a blast on some of the super tight kart tracks.

Huge pic, so I won't embed it, but I've talked with this guy a few times, the bike was for sale a few years ago, not sure whatever happened to it.

Seems we need someone to manage a bike thread and a track thread so we can keep track of what is out there so we can all join the servers together. I keep my default bikes the way they came so I can join the SM servers and once in a while find out how many crashes it takes to a rage quit on a motocross course.  ::)

GPB has a database thread for bikes and tracks that seems to keep things rather organized. Maybe someone here has the time to do the same.  :)

This is not official but try this.

Direct lean 100%
Stability 100%
Rider l/r & f/b auto off
Auto dab off

Set lean to left joy
Set lean l/r & f/b to right joy

Sit while going up ramp, "lightly" Push left joy "left" and lightly push right joy right, it has to be light or you will throw rear to far and it wont come back..then reverse controls to come back.

More technical - may need a Lil panic Rev to keep from endo..may need to stand mid air or after launch..

my technique is similar except for the landing,  instead of reversing both controls I only reverse the body lean and leave the steering input to the same angle,  I find leaving the steering angle the same as takeoff gives a real smooth landing especially when your not lined straight up.  I find I can also lay the whip flat by sitting and leaning back on takeoff.

Totally OT, pretty sure we rode together for a few laps at Holjes on the 450's, first time riding supermoto on B4 online for me, was a blast running the few laps I had time for. :)

Last of the true "works" bikes... Doug Henrys YZM400 !!

Doug Henry's 1997 YZM400F by Tony Blazier, on Flickr

That bike was the entire reason I wanted anything to do with motocross as a young man... I remember when they were brand new, and all the hilarious commentary during the supercross season when it made its debut. Calling it a tractor, and talking about how funny it sounded. Boy did the laughing stop right about mid season too! Haha, those memories will be with me all my life.

In early 2012 I had high hopes of acquiring one and doing some offroad riding with my dad (he was on the hunt for a DT400, his dream dirt machine from when he was a young man) and we pined over the ads on craigslist, spent many a morning sipping coffee and talking about all the trail systems and places we would go and ride our "tuning fork, four hundreds". By late August of 2012 I had found "the one", a used, but not very abused '99 YZ400F, and I had the means to acquire it, the deal was made, and I was going to make full payment and take possession of it by October (a good friend came into it on a trade and didn't like it, was willing to hold on to it for me for a bit so I could work out space to store it and get my trailer from another friends house).

By the end of September everything had changed, I tragically lost my dad to an errant driver crossing the center line attempting to turn into a driveway, my dad was beyond the threshold to be able to slow down on his motorcycle and the impact took his life. I remember the phone call, I remember the day, and I remember thinking to myself, "What in the holy hell am I going to do when I have to pick up this YZ400F?? Where am I going to ride it? Who am I going to ride with?"... my world was devastated, I was reeling with heart ache, and I knew that stupid Yamaha would be the last conversation my dad and I had about motorcycles. So I picked it up and cried on the way home knowing it would never be joined by a '70's DT400, and, I've had it since October of 2012, and I've put at most, 5 hours in the saddle. Not that I don't want to ride it, but I want every ride I take to be worth it, to give back that little bit of time I spent with the old man talking bikes over coffee or beer, and to give me those moments that we would have had together. Even if it's just me, a long winding trail, and tree's passing the bark busters at 50mph on the rear wheel in south Wisconsin sand, I know he is there, tagging along behind watching me set the pace.  :)

Watching McGrath absolutely thrash on a Honda CR250 probably had a ton to do with my love of motocross bikes as well.  ;D

How's sales been piboso?  I've had 2 people tell me they have bought the game and 1 more tell me  he's  bought the game thanks to my beta 4 videos,  I've also had an extra 15 subscribers since its release. Plus my pitbike video has had loads of views already so pretty good news for mxb  I'd say.

Indeed, I had a friend see my preview for the SM Bikes Pack and buy a copy instantly. He is hooked too, hasn't stopped talking about how fun it is. I'm curious how sales are doing as well. It seems every one of us that is big time into MXB has brought at least one or two people into it.  :)

Wow! Thank you all for the kind replies. As said in the first post, all credit goes to Piboso for making it possible to do the cloning and altering. The bike files could easily have been encrypted and left us with only what was given with the game. Just as it is with real life (I build motorcycles) I am standing on the shoulders of giants. I didn't cast the engine, or weld the original frame together, but I do dig in and change the things that count, and by doing so, use the hard work and dedication of the person that built it originally, to make it customized and proper for the end user. Piboso to modders, is manufacturers to builders. Given an incredible canvas and a steady hand, you can paint breath taking pictures that can be appreciated for generations to come.

I'm really glad everyone is enjoying these bikes as much as I am! I honestly expected to get blasted with complaints about unrealistic numbers, bad geometry, too much or too little power, etc.. There has been some less than nice reviews on the GPB forum that chased off a few gifted modders so I knew for a fact, even if it is MXB, I had to find real dyno charts, real chassis weights, and real video of supermoto counterparts to the bikes I was trying to make feel/look/behave correct. I could have tried to base it off my limited experience with supermoto, but, that just wouldn't be good enough.  8)

Here is a few tracks I used for testing. I posted these in the Beta4 release thread, but pages upon pages of replies buried it. As the description says, if you only download one of these tracks, let it be Funring 2013. The bumps and jumps make it as challenging and fun as it can get. I accidentally did a huge turned down whip with the 650 over the big jump and had to watch the replay a few times, just to be sure it looked as good as it felt to land it. Took YEARS to get whips down in MXS, so when it happened this quickly after some attempts on MXB I was floored by it even happening.  ;D

Southern (All piboso titles) a few other tracks as well, all great quality! http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=3001.0

Landsard (KRP) More hours on MXS with a supermoto YZ250F than I care to admit to... ten times better on MXB! http://forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=5219.msg40341#msg40341

A7000 (All Piboso titles) "Public Road", tons and tons of fun, point to point, twisty, some awesome high speed sweepers. http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=1003.0

Mosport (KRP) Really stretches the 650's legs! https://mega.co.nz/#!Mtd2yJiZ!YPY7xS7hP1Qjuy1Vdt5VPBGjEThJbf_-TkbHNRTxH34

Lezennes (GPB) Rather tight track that lent itself well when I was helping private test the KX450-SM that was released on GPB forum. http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=182.0

Breuqauin-Ville (GPB) Long public road circuit. http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=608.0

Funring 2013 (WRS/GPB) has a massive jump, a small jump, a bumpy corner, a smooth corner, a carousel corner, a fairly decent length strait section, and did I mention it has a big ramp to ramp jump? Seriously, if you only download one track to add to MXB that isn't motocross, it should be THIS one. http://gp-bikes-italia.forumfree.it/?t=66083246

Bikes / SM Bikes Pack (new preview of bike pack!)
March 09, 2016, 11:32:35 PM
This is all the default MX Bikes cloned, and turned into SM Bikes.  :o

Edit****Forgot a Preview!!

https://www.youtube.com/v/vPW1nsyAi0s

Bonus CR500R variant! It's pretty much a CR500R engine in a CR250R "AF" with stock suspension. Your virtual rider is gonna be glad he can't break a collar bone. XD

This is purely for fun, I am a huge supermoto enthusiast and wanted to share the things I do to my own copy of MX and GP Bikes. I modify the hell out of the parameters given and enjoy the hell outta what I consider the pinnacle of motorcycle simulators. I hope anyone that downloads this sees the same cool factor I do with this. Piboso made an incredibly versatile and mod-able sim, the fact we can use default parts and files to create this many bikes from what is available is a testament to how incredible Piboso truly is as a developer!  ;D

125 2T SM
250 2T SM
500 2T SM
500 2T Enduro (CR500R)
250 F SM
350 F SM
650 F SM

Gave up on trying to improve this pack at this point, the 450F is now listed as a Piboso model, the models I modified are labeled TocTuning models. May update this later with better gearing, chassis weight, part weight, etc. but for the time being, until I have time, may as well put these out there for people wanting to have a good starting point to compare the default files with the ones modified. The changes are pretty clear, and if my rather computer illiterate self can make a pack of supermoto's cloned from stock bikes on the game, I'm sure if you can model, you can adjust the things needed to make one of these templates work for anything from an enduro to a full scale supermoto replica.

Bikes / Re: Cloning and Altering Bikes
March 09, 2016, 05:48:02 PM
Quote from: Snappe on March 09, 2016, 05:07:29 PMPerhaps you could post only the files that you modded? It could help bike makers releasing complete new bikes!

That's all it is, just modded numbers on the stock bikes with the wheel/tire part pointed at the SM wheels from the 450 rather than the dirt wheels. I figured by opening a thread it would allow me to give a nice first post explanation of the parts of the files modified (not a whole lot) and how to change things to fit completely new models. Just saw the CR500 posted up and was thinking that the "pack" I have been working on could be used by modders so they could replace the cloned Piboso models with new 3rd party models. More or less I'm trying to create a base group of Supermoto's so that modders can just use the physics files as a starting point.

The lack of new bikes is the entire reason I have even been working on this. Piboso did an amazing job with Beta4, and the supermoto gave me a taste of how great it could be to have a larger range of displacement sizes and weights of bikes overall without going too far or over the top with changing things so that the real modders can take over from a good starting point.  :)
