Title: Help on Alpha Channel

Is there anyone that can please explain to me how to save the spec map in the alpha channel of the normal. I make my normal visible save it as a 32 bit TGA and do the same with my reflection map but the alpha channel thing just throws me off. Any help would be appreciated.
