I know it's a different problem but it's still a problem (quite similar to the FOV setting not going beyond a certain value in-game, unless you manually edit the .ini).

Thanks for the video on the texture issue: you should probably post it in the bug section.

Interesting.. this does not happen for me. I have a lot of memory and a strong cpu but who knows why I don't get texture pop like that.

I'd be surprised if this didn't happen to you BadStar.. Can you test?

Try going into replay free roam, don't zoom in or out and see how far away you can get from the track before squares pop in..

Edit: remember as I said before, it seems to be more of a fov issue rather than distance. Philian is running a very high fov which exacerbates the effect.

yeah i had 115 in that hotlap round. here is my test 50-100fov https://www.twitch.tv/philian89/v/60157252

pc spec cpu i7 6700k gpu r9 390 8gb vram ram 16gb

so im sure my pc would handle this :)

@badstar yeah test this please if you didnt have this problem send us your profile.ini i will test it than with your settings

I use 100fov and yes in replay textures definitely pop, but this does not happen when I'm in 1st person camera and actually riding. Maybe I'm mistaken but it's really noticeable in his replay and I would think I would notice this in game.

I may be missing 2 things..
1)you guys are strictly talking replay mode only
2)I'm just not noticing it bc I'm riding and pre occupied with the race/track

I'll test at some point soon so I can stop wasting forum space  :o

That's partially why I asked, to see if the texture poppin in when close enough is hardware related.

Just tried on Maryland and I do have the issue too: I have an i5-2500 with 16GB and a 970 with 4GB (I know for sure it's not a memory limitation, the memory used by MXB when th eissue happen is well below what's available, bot RAM and GPU memory).

P.S. I didn't even check the replay, it happens when riding.

This is a known issue, due to rendering optimizations.
It's not a bug.
An easy solution would be to make the optimization threshold less "aggressive", or link it to the "Model Detail" setting.
A better solution would be to create a new rendering path to draw at least a couple layers instead of one.
