It would be great if there was 'server information' that told you what custom stuff was running server side, at least then people would know..

There is a boom in user-created content currently, which is nice to see but leads to a few issues. Once this fever is over (pretty soon I'm guessing), we should really come together and copy what has been done with GP-Bikes: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2626.0

Basically a dropbox folder that is updated at regular intervals to include finished and tested and agreed upon models, with a change log (and a bump at each update). Then server host just have to add a tag to their server (like Bikes-MX5) to know which pack is required.

Would solve quite a few headaches and increase the amount of people online too. I find myself very often trying to connect and... nop the server doesn't have the bike / I don't have the server bike, how can I even know this, well I shouldn't bother to find out cause anyway noone else bothered, 0/1/2 online only... and that's a downward spiral.

I can't help with a drop box but I am looking at adding an email subscription option to mxbc. Ideally I could make it so you could subscribe to every new upload, or only the categories that you'd need to know about to play online.

It would be nice if PiBoSo could work it so it replaced the custom bike with the default MSM model if you don't have the custom bike, and same for helmets although I think it's only bikes that cause the conflict.

If the game updates only the vector, it would work. I think it's made that the server needs to know your bike in details (engine, geometry, setup etc) in case you have a race with some limits on the parameters - like amount of tyres etc.

We need PiBoSo's light to shine on this :p
