>>> 18.03.2017 : Beta 6 update : Suzuki Pack v2.0 <<<

Here is the Suzuki 2016 motocross range updated for Beta 6.

Standard bikes
  • Chassis flex values added
OEM bikes
  • Chassis flex values added
  • 4 strokes: different engine maps added, based on the different couplers coming with the bike. Warning: bullshit detected. Couplers change fuel mix which we can't control here, so instead I changed the dyno map slightly, similarly to the CRF "Modes". Expect a difference in behaviour you can feel, but not enough to give an obvious all around winner.
    • No Coupler: Stock hp curve, rather full at low RPMs but limited at high RPMs.
    • White Coupler: Spreads the power delivery more smoothly over all the RPM range. Longer, more manageable pull.
    • Grey Coupler: Tightens the engine, shifting more of its power to the high RPMs. Faster revving, harder hitting.

Necessary Geo Tyre Mod (http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=1451.0) for the OEM bikes to work.

As always, let me know if anything is out of whack. Enjoy!

Huge thanks to

Thank you for the bike, firstly!  Secondly, I think its a nice, fun bike to ride.  I can feel some torque in it running my usual gearing but I don't find it to do anything weird or overpowering, really.  Nothing feels out of place in the handling to my novice understanding of bike physics.

this is actually the msm original engine on both 250 and 450.

thanks for the bike! i only tested it in sp now, because no Server have the bike. when braking in to a Corner (front brake) the rear slides to much (to much Motor brake?)
the Overall grip is bader. but maybe it is because i was playing sp with Deformation.

best looking bike for me, thanks again

this is may be the most accurate model we ever had... idk ^^. but i know that i made the bike files.. i made the geom exactly the same way i did with all my other releases and put the exactly same engine. the bike handle just sooooo good... best we ever had. and it's a V1 i made as a "beta". in like... two hours lol. Vortexdamdam is going to make it even better...  :)

Absolutely love it damo! Fantastic work.

It does feel like the wheelbase is shorter than the MSMs, not sure about IRL but maybe that's why it's front end happy?

Thank you, best bike yet. ;)

It rides so smooth without what seems like the crazy power delivery of the other 450s, it feels to me very similar to the msm350, except you are going faster.

I use Geo's suspension settings and have no problems.

I don't know if Damien is going to release a template for photoshop. But if not, you can use the provided skin for experimenting with skinning. If you only paste the cutout over the provided default skin, the result wouldn't be as you expected because the colours need their proper shading. If you are good with photoshop try to do it but without the UV Wireframe it's going to be hard.

Updated the thread..
Cutout is released.. for now the template needs to be worked on and cleaned up before i release it. to actually get the 3d model you would need to purchase that from me tho.. i plan on getting a bunch of "premade" stuff done when you can pick what you want and add the .edf files and you can release your bikes that way. but in order to add your own shit/render the bike you would have to purchase that. expect a v2 next weekend or so

use painted to extract the rmz paint, then download the cutout Damien added to the first thread and lay it over the paint you've extracted, should be enough to start a skin.

The 250 is my best go to race bike now!

The 450 seems like it has a few issues but I am one of the ones who claim the 450's have issues to begin with in this sim..

However, the rm450 especially noticeable on GH, seems to have a strange floating front end issue.. like wheel base or something.

After riding it a bit, I noticed (that beside it's too low), it has a very strong tendency to lift the front high on every jump if you keep the throttle open on a jump face. I tried fiddling with the setup (compression rebound mostly) but couldn't get rid of it totally. I have to rear brake tap like a mad man all the time to keep it level. I suppose it has to do with the current swingarm/pivot and why it also is very low.

Side note: the handlebar is chrome, not yellow ;)

Great job on the moddeling though, it looks pimp and everything aside from the rear suspension is great.

I forgot to say that, totally agree with the tendency to go back on all the jumps. I'm not an mx rider IRL but I think usually you have to pull back a bit the handlebar. Isn't it?

In my small experience of real life motocross and much bigger experience of dirt jumping bmx and mtb, you try and keep your body in line with the ground at all times, so up the face of a jump you'd actually lean forward slightly..
Title: Re: 2016 RMZ 250/450 Release V1.2
Post by: BadStar on June 15, 2016, 03:44:28 PM
Fats is correct. Your body is slightly forward of the pegs, not necessarily leaning forward but forward on the bikes center/pegs.

What to change there ? Can someone help?

Braap.. I think its the sx jumps more than the bikes..may be wrong.    Plenty of rear brake, slam rider forward.

May be wrong and some bike issue as well but pretty sure all bikes have this on Asdrael SX.

Might be an illusion that it's faster, since it's another model and you are happy about the new model so it makes you think you are going faster but in reality you are going the same speed as the msm 450, i don't know..

This is true,  ideally the rider would be leaned forward with his chin directly above the handlebars for the best balance,  I believe they call it the "attack" position.

Major improvement since the latest version, great bike to ride now.

I noticed there is still a problem when looking at the sag in the Test mode, and at least on the 250F (is it only me?) there is no sound when decelerating at high RPMs.

I didn't notice the sound thing, but honestly only listened to make sure I got the rev limiter sound in. Should be easy enough to fix, though.

The model is the same as the beta 4 release, so all the paints from that still work.

Finally tested it properly with the new sounds ;)

Loving how it looks, loving how it behaves. The stock suspensions setup on it is pretty good too. It does however appear to be some extra room for movement onthe rear shock - the tyre doesn't go all the way up to the fender. Like 20cm leftover.

Great job on it, imo it's just lacking a bit in the finishing touches department - getting proper sag measurement and a better looking dirt map. Rest is spot on, might be my newbike for this beta!

Uh, 320-350MB per bike, that's a lot !

Is it normal they have model.edf, model_cockpit.edf, model_lod2.edf and model_lod3.edf all of identical sizes (65+MB each) ?
I can (maybe understand) the cockpit model, by the 2 LODs ?!

Uh, 320-350MB per bike, that's a lot !

Is it normal they have model.edf, model_cockpit.edf, model_lod2.edf and model_lod3.edf all of identical sizes (65+MB each) ?
I can (maybe understand) the cockpit model, by the 2 LODs ?!

yeah that is a lot. could probably get rid of the LOD's entirely seeing as it's probably the exact same model anyway.
My pitbikes are only 29mb and my 125 is only about 70mb. and that includes many paints.

Yeah but why LOD2 and LOD3 are exactly same size ?! If they are identical, there's no need for them, no ?

I took out the LOD's and adjusted the scripts. got them down around 100mb each. I'll send to Damien when I see him online if he wants to update.
As far as I can tell... they function exactly the same in-game visibly.

all 4 strokes in the game use the 250 sounds. my 450 and 250 engines are distinctly different for the rmz's, though.

Hi guys, the bikes ride so smooth. Very nice looking too. Just real measurements like a proper rake angle and some real data are missing imo. Good work.

PhiliaN and I tested the RMZ 450 and the CRF450. The CRF450 is pretty similar to the normal 450xf, but the RMZ is just no where neare these bikes. It is not compatible. Please, change something. I could imagine, that the guys who picked the RMZ in the gtx championship will have a hard time.

I guess I need to clarify. I meant the 450 and the 250 are distinctly different. I didn't mean they used a custom engine. I assume it's the stock engine as I did not modify them. I only worked on the geom. But they are not the same bike as was implied in a previous post.

Would you mind uploaded that same thing, but with selectable shading? I cringe skinning over shading cause it looks ghetto, and also makes it unable to select plastics correctly. If so, awesome! If not, less awesome, but still cool! 8)

I've done an update. If Damien OK's it, I'll post a link as it is his bike. Stone and Geo have both tested it. and say it's ready. Only adjustment was rear shock. I have not had time to do any testing myself, so I appreciate their feedback.

Curious as to what changed / how you changed it. Rear shock behaviour seems to be an issue on most custom bikes, would be good to have some kind of golden rule for this. I am guessing linkage changes?

I'll do a new topic when i finish the edf files. I don't get the way Rc did it so i have to redo it all. As' allready made the files so... Still no mud layers for now but a real behavior at least :)

Enjoy

That's Std (geom changes) + OEM (geom + engine). Don't bash me for the specs, Suzuki made it with 28.4 rake angle and 21.5mm fork offset. And that is, when the different local Suzuki websites don't contradict themselves. I'm not responsible :p (Has the new weight repartition stuff too). Go for 30mm front 40mm rear dry sag. Expect some good handling and some dubious stability sometimes. Stock settings are off because I can't get my hands on an RMZ user manual and Suzuki sells those for 50$.

Edit: hoh yeah and open for feedback, was some pretty extreme geom changes and with teh suzuki funky approach to chassis design, not sure how it's working out. I'm loving the 450F though.

ok im gonna go on the record and say there is an issue with this bike that was introduced a couple of updates ago. Im not sure what it is but the front end just isnt right, i mean every other bike you can brake tap in the air with some forward lean and drop the front end easy, with this bike i find it impossible to do. really off putting, i was hoping the new OEM geom would fix this but it hasnt.

Talked to GDub on Steam. Turns out he was using the stock settings on the 450, so basically bottoming out everywhere :p

I'm a sad little troll and made the RMZ450 fork stock settings shit, as every review of the real bike was very "reserved" about the fork of the RMZ450. Go for intermediate settings on it and it'll be fine ;)

You're not just a troll but basically a bike scientist and I don't know a damn thing past "stock"... so how in the heck would I do "intermediate" settings. Not nice troll  >:( :( ??? :D ;D :P

Intermediate - I meant middle setting for everything.

For the RMZ, for a good all around base: at the front -~4.8 spring, 10 comp 10 rebound, 5 preload, 110 oil ; at the rear, 46 spring, 10 comp 10 rebound 15 preload. Up a spring front and back (and adjust preload) for SX.

>>> 27.3.2017 : SHAKDATASS PATCH 450 OEM - RMZ Std + OEM v 2.1<<<

Did some extensive testing after having been made aware of somes issues pushing the 450f OEM, the rear being extremely uncontrolable when braking and at low speeds, severly limiting corner entry speed and giving a "tipitoe" feeling when below 3rd gear. Issue found and fixed.

Changes only in the 450f engine files: braking torque reduced, back to MSM values.

Engine files to drop in your RMZ450 OEM folder: RMZ450OEM v2.1 patch (https://mega.nz/#!MExgHbII!w1_z3b5b4f_MJ0xnvfjHhHCODRuoBLHbIfB3wVnC-UQ) (<- you only need this if you already had the pack. Don't forget to delete when comes the time to OneStopSync your files).

Reminder: OEM bikes need Geo's Tyres (http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=1451.0) to work.

Please direct general feedback on the OEM changes to this thread: http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=1666.0 ; and keep the model specific here ;)
