Title: MXbikes Server - Rider Requirements
Post by: teeds on June 10, 2016, 01:04:48 PM
Some online servers will be running custom tracks and bikes and anyone wishing to join these servers will need to download the necessary mods. This post will hopefully simplify what's needed for newcomers.

TRACKS

To see what tracks are being used online look at the online server list http://stats.mx-bikes.com/servers.php (http://stats.mx-bikes.com/servers.php) . Then download any custom track you want to ride from the https://mxb-mods.com/category/uploads/tracks (https://mxb-mods.com/category/uploads/tracks) tracks section.

BIKES

Some servers run custom bikes and you will need the same bikes loaded into your "bikes" folder to join. You will get a "Missing Bikes" error if you join a server running custom bikes that you do not have loaded.
If a server is running an updated version of a bike you have loaded, you will get a "Bike Mismatch" error.
For servers running mod bikes download these bikes to join -

LaConca - https://mega.nz/#!8poEHIDQ!WQP2fB24PTI6jJ7N-hBhVmWd_LNqCT6ksOWEMu2WtMo

Additional FYI - Make sure all your original MXB files are intact ie bikes.pkz. Other recent mods have replaced this file and if it's missing you will get a missing bike error with MOD and on stock servers. Easy fix is to re-install over the top.

Very nice!!

Any chance on a title change to something similar to "online play requirements".. this title almost looks to be something for setting up a dedicated server.

Either way, thx so much to you for creating and piboso for pinning!

Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements
Post by: teeds on December 23, 2016, 05:49:37 PM
I thought we should test, but yea it's still not happy so will turn it off, just done #1, will do the rest later. But it sounds like collisions are ok? Didn't get chance to really check it out with other riders last night myself before I felt sick due to VR lol
Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements
Post by: 𝖙𝖋𝖈 on December 23, 2016, 06:00:36 PM
Lol, need to get your VR legs back ;)

Thanks for turning it off. I can't say for collisions as I could only play for 30 seconds or so since B5 has been out but definitely worth a try, the new reset system should make for some interesting riding!

Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements
Post by: teeds on December 23, 2016, 06:26:39 PM
Need some strong VR legs for MXB it seems. Also the only server that had deformation on was #1, so all off now.

Shouldn't it be updated with new rev limiter?

Heathen. No limiter on those 2strokes(afaik).
Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements

Is there a way to make the bike not cut out without a rev limiter sound?
Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements
Post by: rc4187 on December 28, 2016, 01:18:56 AM
I have made the rev limit extremely high before and the engine will blow up at a certain rpm.
Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements

Now I'm just confused.. I wasn't going to touch the rm as it didn't need a limiter, but geo are you saying it always had one?

Perhaps I'll make a few tweaks to the geom first anyway.

I got either missmatch or stuck in "Syncing". Might have to do with me fiddling with the rider.pkz. I'll try reinstalling later tonight.

Myself and a friend have had loads of crashes over the last few days, it seems more than we had over the whole xmas period. I'm getting core crashes going back to the pits after being on track and had several occasions where I cannot join a server until it's been reset, it just crashes shortly after clicking join during the "syncing" message. Anyone else having these problems?

Anything changed master server list wise in the last few days Pibs? Over xmas I was thinking how stable MXB had become.

Title: Re: www.mxb-central.com Server - Rider Requirements

Bike Mod 10 should get you in the 2 Mod mxb-central servers regardless, but that pack does not contain the bikes with Geos tyre mod. This should mean you'll get a "bike missing error" if you try to join the GTX servers. If you're getting "bike unknown to server" when trying to join an mxb-central mod10 server what bike did you have selected?

Is there any proper supermoto tracks with jumps? I played some. Earlier but they were all go kart tracks I think. Supermoto is actually quite fun :)

This Pleven Bulgaria circuit, but it looks very simple and is not finished, I am working on it, when I finish updating all SM bikes, I will try to finish the circuit in good condition

Yea my old links are long gone Gdub.

I have updated to the latest tyres but I guess maybe I haven't removed all the bikes Geo has from his stash, I can join my servers and GTX fine but I don't use the sync system. I'll take a look later.

what happens when you try to connect?
please, note that you should have full OEM bikes pack and LAA patch applied in order to join popular servers. and check for this topic (maybe same issue?): http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=1931.0

Just a quick question:

Is there anyway I can have a server open for a week without actually having my MX-Bikes open in the application for the whole week? I know this can be done in MX-Sim but I'm not sure if the same applies here.

I was hoping to open up this server for the FLCS2, so I can scrap the screenshots and then just have that server open, then when the round ends, I can see all the data like each persons fastest laps. I don't mind if I have to pay to open this server.

This way, people can go into the server anytime when the round is open and put down laps whenever they want, then i have the data there.

You can run a dedicated server? There's an "open-practice" mode now that has no time limits I believe. Not sure about recording times, they can be saved upon session end but not sure how the practice mode will deal with this as you will need to just close the server and no session will end effectively, needs testing. If not you could always run a practice session for a week if needed, when it ends the data will be saved, just gotta hope it doesn't crash before the times are saved.

Thanks, how do I open this dedicated server? Sorry, I'm not great with this sort of stuff. Also,

Start here http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=197.0

You need to forward the ports you decide to use to the pc running the dedi server, this is done on your router.
