Title: [BETA5] 2016 Stock Husqvarna FC250 V1.1 RIDE2

Here we go again.

I know we got Jay's husky converted by the great StoneRider but i wanted to release a new version with a totally different model, textures and physics.

I wanted to fit 3D over 250xf as possible because 250xf.geom and real fc250 shares some data(wheelbase, gearing, rake...)

Maybe the dirtlayers are soft but could be improved on a next version.

PS: I used an structured naming Class_Brand_Model_Year. I think we should use something like that to avoid joining problems. In gpbikes is working well. Please no discussion about values and ethics in modding, feel free to give any kind of feedback.

So you mean you made the geom and then fitted the model on it? Interesting take, and probably the most realistic. I like it, thanks for the work. Is it still Jay's model, or is it new from scratch?

And for the naming template, I agree. We need some kind of format or it's going to be a mess soon :p

I put a 3D model(with some textures and making some shaders) (Not made by me and not jay's model) and fitted in a 250xf geom tweaking some parts in order to be close as possible to the original 250xf because I noticed it has some husky and ktm measurements and engine data.
In order to don't fake the simulation I don't want to put "creative" values for change handling or match 3d with geom file.

I'm glad you like it Adsrael.

Thanks Paco! I love the look of these huskys. I wish I had one in real life.

Might be a good thing to give credit to the creator of the model btw. :)

Tbh I really, really like the approach - I think it's the way to go for further model. Getting the actual data and fitting the model on it, rather than the other way around. So if I can help with feeback I'll do my best. It's easy-ish to have the actual important measurements so it should be doable I suppose.

What is actually different between this and the 250xf? I'm trying to pin point some stuff but having a hard time. I noticed that your Husky seems a bit more light from the front and a bit more playful than the stock bike but I don't have a lot of time on both so it's hard to say. Definately a fun bike, I'm ripping perfect laps on JS-7-SXN on it stock. Definately going to harden the suspensions though.

Not in this case, the model creator is not important in this case. And he is not going to come here like in the "bikesgate". Haha.

Don't worry about that. This bikes came from the same place that all the Gpbikes come. The bikes heaven. Only the community knows where they come from. The first fight club rule is...

Cheers, it rides well and might actually be somewhere near the performance of the RMZ.

After riding it more, it has the same issue as the stock bikes: suspensions are too soft, you bottom out a lot. I'm not sure why it's so. If they are "realistic" in value, the rider is not soaking up enough. Or they are just not in the actual range. No idea how to check that up, I'll have to look into bike modding and I'm crap at it.

Edit: putting the hardest springs and bump >10 mostly solves the bottoming out issue on the SX tracks, but it's very close to the end of the tunning range so you don't have a lot of room to play with then.

I'll take a look. Has 250xf the same problem?

Yes.

After watching replays, I'm starting to think it has correct values, the problem comes from a very rigid rider. Instead of soaking up its weight through arms and legs, he stays very still, making the bike suspensions work twice as hard.

However, I'm LOVING the rest of the bike. Took me some time to find a setup I like, but it's a wonderful mix of nimble and stable now. Plus, the suspension travel is on point - maximum compression = tyres grazing the fenders. Looks lovely.

One and a half criticism time though: the dirt layer could use a bit of love (too subtle + the bar looks like it's rusting, not getting mud), and the front brake, gaz and clutch cables alongside the top half of the frame are turning with the handle bars instead of sticking to the frame. Rest is on point, really. (also, might be intentional but you are using the stock limiter sound).

Double post because I can't get over how awesome and realistic it behaves. Full throttle 2nd and 3rd gives you a slight wheely, perfectly controlable with body movement. Can make for some pretty breathtaking moments when pushing it. Great job again.

Yes, totally agree, the dirt layers must be redone, I hate that part of the work haha. And also cables will be fixed in the V 1.1

Gotta be honest, I think this is one of my favourite bike to ride so far in B5.. No offense to anyone else, before this it was the CRF.. I'm finding most B5 versions to behave a little differently than expected and am having trouble figuring out what to ride half the time..

Spot on once the suspension has been stiffened up, the perfect balance between in control and just on the edge, and very nice that the line between pinning it and losing it is predictable.

The only thing I don't like is the hand placement. It feels like the left hand is near enough spot on, maybe a bit too far in, but the throttle hand is too far in and floating above the grip slightly so when you get big opposite lean angles with the rider he's not holding the grip anymore.

Great job! :D

Thank you TFC!! It will be fixed as soon as possible. I was overexcited after some hours of tweaking/exporting/reexporting/normalmapfuckingmyhead... and I released a bit rush.

I'm a total MX noob and haven't been touching MXB for a while (except the occasional 3min to test plugin stuff), but this bike is utterly enjoyable !

14-01 HOT FIX UPDATE - SUSPENSION TUNED TO A PROPER STIFFER - Just download .geom file and put it in your folder overwriting the old one.

Bike is much better now, great job. Too bad the Husky is still butt-ugly but hey, that's their branding strategy I guess :p

Mod 10 contains this update with the bike and I think Geo loaded it in too if that helps.

Rode it some more. It's awesome in SX, but in MX, it still is bottoming out from the rear too easily on landings. It looks like the more compressed the suspension, the softer it gets for some reason. Not sure what's going on. This is with Geo's tyres though so pushing it hard.

Yeah, I know, try the KTM it seems much more estable because of the rear suspension. I have to rework it as soon I release the KXF. Thank you for the feedback as always Ads!

You are gonna hate me paco but since I love the way you went with this bike, I can't stop playing it trying to find ways to improve it :p

I noticed that on that bike, the rider seems to be more on the rear than on other bikes. Looking closely, it seems that the rider feets are not on the pegs. The rider seems to be balanced 20cm or so to the back with its feets. Take a berm, watch the replay in "Free mode" looking at the peg on the outside on the turn, you will see the feet pivot and it's clear that it's not rotating on the peg.

Could this be a reason why the rear shock is a bit of a bitch to set up and most importantly, why the bike a bit front end light in SX?

Very likely. I found the same when experimenting with the rm250 geom. It made the rear very unpredictable,

I won't hate you. I love a good feedback and you're giving it since your first day here(senensis) haha. The rider could seem a bit back balanced but actually the rider mass it's a bit to the front. It's just graphically what your seeing. I will reexport the bike to match better the stock geometry and forget those kind of problems or unpredictable behaviour. Thank you again!

Thanks, I'll sit tight for the update. Imo, just balancing the weight of the whole thing (bike + rider) slightly forward would be great already. In the meanwhile, I'll stop bacshing my head trying to find a setup that works 100% my way :p
