A must-read for all, including those who had previous syncback profiles.

Keep all of MXB bikes, tracks, gear, tyres in sync at all times!


Thanks to Geo for helping me and testing it out and Phillian for doing some tests too.
Don't ever wonder why this post has got similar wordings from Geo's because it was originally from his.




Upload requests will be updated every Wednesday or depending on how urgent it would be.


For those who had syncback before, start with step two in the instructions

INSTALLATION: - It is recommended to delete all folders "bikes, rider, tracks, tyres" (if they exist) and start fresh with this. Backup anything custom you may have and bring in after install

1. Download and install SyncBack Free (https://www.2brightsparks.com/welcome/backup/freeware.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7dni1uO01wIVS5V-Ch1JeAuPEAAYASABEgLBCvD_BwE)

2. Download these profiles (previous profiles won't work anymore) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oI0kltqhecTkp-hd3pXxOn2wbezSnY0x (should be 5 profiles you can run: "Bike Paints, Bikes+Tyres, Rider Gear, Rider Paints, Tracks")
     - Bikes+Tyres are required!
     - Tracks are required!
     - Everything else is optional

3. Double click the profile(s) and it should automatically import (if not then click profiles menu and import profile)

4. Launch SyncBack program (right click SyncBack and go to "Properties" --- under the "Compatibility" tab ensure the checkbox for "Run this program as administrator" is selected)

VERY IMPORTANT ON FIRST TIME RUN:
5. Right click on the profile(s) and choose MODIFY
6. Next to the Local button you will see a folder icon, click it and select  C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\PiBoSo\MX Bikes\mods and Click OK.

NORMAL AFTER FIRST TIME USE:

7. Click profile(s) and select RUN - The program will look for files to be synced
8. Once done you can see what files will need synced and can individually set what you want if desired (ie: rider and paint stuff are optional of course)

LASTLY:
9. Click CONTINUE and WAIT! First download will take quite a while, but any future updates will only need to sync whatever was updated.
10. ENJOY! No unpacking, no moving, and totally automated updates :)

The first download is a big download, so don't be surprised if first go around a few files have an error or don't come in perfect. Just run program again and all will be corrected. To this point, OEM bikes are in your directory, however you can only use it offline, to make it work in MP online proceed to step 11 below,


NOTES:
- A folder that is unpacked from the .pkz will over-ride the .pkz. (It is recommended to delete all folders "bikes, rider, tracks, tyres" and start fresh with this. Backup anything custom you may have and bring in after install)
     - This is useful if you want to unpack a bike and work on a mod

- Please let me know of any items you want on server (I will grab content out of forum posts pretty quick though for Wednesday updates)
- Please let me know of any files that are missing or possibly in wrong place.
- Please let me know of any files you think we can eliminate (in other words --- useless content)
- If the download speed is slow, blame Geo (joke).

I noticed "THE RIDGE v0.5" is in the sync. 

I love that free ride track.. just very sad to know I was unable to add objects at the time I made it. Imagine it loaded with forest/trees and such.. What a gem, I think it is something a lil diff for this game. It's especially good for free ride now that mx bikes has a better respawn system.

With that said, It is very unfinished.. (only playable on CLOUDY as it looks kinda ok)

I don't think all the real content creators and players want to sync any unfinished work.

I don't mind at all but just my best guess on the matter. 

I forgot all about it and just had a blast with the new tyres. ha

Thanks Badstar. Twas b6 that I was looking for some more content and I have actually searched  the forum for previous uploaded tracks and found some nice ones including yours the free ride so, I decided to include them. I think players will still like  em Bad, I do tbh.

Boot paints should be selectable in game now.

May I recommend saying in your post that you need to have used Large Adress Aware  (https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/)so the OEM bikes work online? I can anticipate the spam of "omg it's crashing HEPL" already :p

Very good Bj! How can this affect to the sounds? Sounds are not required to be the same to join online and everyone can use his own sounds, will syncback recommend me to update?

getting this error on all profiles..  :o

aaaaargh......updated all but motocross tracks.....it aborted and now when i try to update it trys to connect and then says, please check your network connection or your ftp settings....any ideas please?

Some of the rider gear doesn't show in-game and only seems to change the gloves.. can we get rid of this stuff?

I wonder if its a memory thing like the layers in track editing.. once you have too many stuff starts to dissapear.

I think some of the stuff (Thor gloves?) have been misplaced. Some are gloves and should be in the gloves folder, not the rider kit folder.

Checking the paints and gloves now one-by-one. Some paints and gloves are in the wrong folders which could be the cause of conflict when you try to use one kit + gloves + boots etc. It must have been from files we got from the previous synchronization during Geo's time. I am now working on it so, later everything will be corrected. I still however need to know if there are still certain combinations that don't work with each other. Please let me know by posting them here. Thanks!

It should be good now.

IMPORTANT:

1. Back up your personal mod, erase the rider folder in MXBikes directory and sync.
2. Once done, put back your personal mod in their respective folders. Thanks!  ;)

Gears update!

Fox V4 helmets -  Stonerider (TFC Cam)now has 28 paints
2018 Answer Elite (Gloves,RPaints) - 3 Colourways - GDUBMX
2018 Fly Lite Hydrogen (RPaints) by GDUBMX


Tested every file to make sure gloves are gloves and rider paints are what they are. Everything is good, uploaded to server and ready to sync. All gears are now selectable without any conflicts with another. ;)

Thanks for the inputs Phil, appreciate it. For the write access on C: means the same with mydocuments since it is in drive (C:). That is always an issue when you have many users created for the computer that you can use to log on to. Most people don't partition drives so OS and directories goes to one drive only, that means when they use different user to log on to that computer and that  user log on wasn't permitted to have write access, then they will never have write access with C drive. I believe mydocuments is also in C drive  :P. That was the case with Tower the other day. I will however add the other way how to put mods in the mx bikes and how to setup syncback profile to direct to another directory (mydocuments>piboso>mxbikes>mods).


For the changing the ini file, I will put a link to it as it is already covered by one of Piboso's post. It will be under how to put mods in custom directory (I shouldn't touch that but I will do it anyways)

For syncback name, yes I can change it to your recommendation. I didn't bother to change it when it was not made sticky just so it can be as visible to newbies as possible.

Updated syncback instructions, including the schedule for syncback server to be on (now with bigger fonts). Seems like some didn't read the post well that they don't seem to see there was only a given schedule for syncback to be available as I don't have a dedicated machine to run as file server 24/7.

Remember, I am just trying to help. For those who are in different time zones, I apologize if I can no longer accommodate your time when you sync as I will shut my machine down (when I see someone is sycnhing, I even extend it sometimes to atleast until it's done, thus making me stay up super late). I might reduce the timeframe for the server as I don't have the server-type hard drive to run the mods on. I need your cooperation as I am trying to make things atleast less stressful when it comes to synching our mods. I need your appreciation not BStry stuffs. Cheers!

I really appreciate your effort but this thing can only work if the FTP is hosted on a true server, up 24/7 and with adequate bandwidth.

Life was so much easier when the old syncback was there: I even managed to convince the GPB guys to use the same idea :)

Absolutely right, this is what we have for rhe moment so I believe this is better than nothing at all. Hopefully everyone who tried to sync but encountered some connection-to-the-syncback problem be patient about it. If anyone has a dedicated server machine for this I would definitely turn this over. I will be glad. Yeah nobody asked me to do this I know,  I just want to contribute something to the community atleast.

And actually the documents folder are always writeable. Even if they are on C: that is the reason why i would def. recommend the mods folder. sure veteran guys will use what they want, but for new guys this will be def. easier in combination with syncback.

Thanks to that, if in the future you change the FTP server (maintaining the folder structure, which is likely) I can do the change in 10sec flat (on all profiles at once) :)

Don't forget that folders have priority over .pkz, and that the SyncBack gives you .pkz.

Meaning that if your individual bike folders have anything else than a /paint folder in them, you'll have a problem. You should only have /bikewhatever/paints and bikewhatever.pkz. No individual files.

well, just re synced and now i get bike mismath on both motosavage and mxb servers....i also just checked the bike folders too (thanks Asdrael) and only paints in them....gonna try another sync...

Success....found some rogue paint files....dont know where from....but.  .got rid and i connected....one more question for Asdrael....whats the difference between the 52 and 35 tyres?

52 are more for mid-hard surfaces, S more for mid-soft.

Because they were Motosavage's syncback profiles. I'm thinking he has stopped his ftp server. Again I will try my best to put a ftp server asap so everyone can sync. Just be patient. Thanks!

Hey BJ, been trying to sync for a couple of weeks now and have exhausted all options/knowledge that I'm aware of. I'm up to date, have all the new profiles in the mods directory, sync per the schedule you posted, but have troubles connecting to the ftp for some reason. I'm on my university internet, which I'm assuming is causing my connection problems. However, when trying today, I did manage to connect randomly... all to have the sync shut down about 10 minutes in (This is the first time I've been able to connect since you took over). I've gone through all of my settings and don't know what to do... any suggestions? Thanks for running sync back for the community btw!

I'm PST but I've been syncing according to EST (3 hours ahead). For example yesterday I started trying to sync at 7PST and tried multiple times for hours afterwards.

Announcement: I am putting up the ftp server for today though it's monday, I just wanna let those who would test the syncback profiles they have recently downloaded. It will be up until 5pm EST. Thanks!

Guessing nobody knows what these new wheels are or where to get a TGA or template? All the OEM bikes have them from the Sync. Would be nice to have more than just silver wheels.

Hello everyone! Syncback is Online again. Same schedule as stated in the first post. When you sync, you will notice that there are no bike and tyre files yet as I am still waiting for the update for those. For now, we only have tracks and rider files (that includes jersey, boots, helmets etc....). Thanks!

Just wondering (not using sync back, it messes up with my XIP stuff :p): do you repack the bikes/tracks in one or do you sync folders and files? As in: do you give for download the whole folder structure and files therein or a simple .pkz per bike and track?

I know syncing individual files probably takes more time, but I am wondering if .pkz don't give a bigger strain on some systems, preventing them to connect online...

Hello Asdrael! bikes and tracks are in .pkz format. I never had any issues connecting to servers with current OEM in em.

We can try changing the profile tree and see if it fixes the connection issue others may have been experiencing.

Syncback Profile updated to new structure specifically for bikes. Redownload the new syncback bikes profile, replace the old one. You don't need to sync (if you already have the updated Beta OEM bikes), you are just replacing the profile for future updates.

Note: you don't need to redownload all the profiles, just the bikes. For those who downloaded the bikes recently with syncback, just unpack the pkz (i.e MX1OEM_2003_Suzuki_RM250.pkz).


How to?: MX1OEM_2003_Suzuki_RM250.pkz,   just right click and extract here and delete the .pkz file. You should be good to go.

I already have the OEM version 0.8.2  full pack.  Is there a way I can put those existing files into my syncback profiles and save d/l time, or do I have to just completely start over? Also, I wasn't sure on whether I have to create a folder in MX bikes for each of the profiles before I modify the profile or do I modify the profile destination path to have that folder inside MX bikes? Here's what I have....not sure how to proceed. Epic fail.

No need to create any folder in your mxb directory.You just need to download the new syncback bikes profile and just download the patch that's available in the link in my previous post.

Syncback server now has the OEM v0.8.3b patch.

I had a fail last night trying to sync. Am I supposed to have these profiles in my mods folder as stated in the instructions before double-clicking to update them? I just have them in my downloads folder when I double-clicked to update, then I modified the path as instructed before starting the first run. When I started the run on all of them, each one came back with an error. I'll try again Friday, but I don't know what I should do differently.  >:(

Possibly the Syncback server was not running.Try it again tomorrow (friday) scheduled day I run the server.

Ok thanks. I saw in original post Wed. Fri and Sat. But will definitely try again tonight.

So, I got by using the OEM packs and after updating with the patches, I had to cut and paste all of the folders since the paths are different from the original OEM full pack. Wow! What a relief after not seeing "missing bike"!

Ive used the sync back before. But for some reason this time its giving me an estimated 45 days to download the tracks motocross. any ideas? (my internet is 500mbps - 50 actual so no reason why) fault on syncbacks part?

Nobody's fault don't worry. Dload speed can vary depending on how many are downloading and/or if the server was running when you tried to connect. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Ahh nono dont say sorry. Afterall you are the one providing the ftp so is all cool. Just gotta have some patience  ;D

Updated Syncback to 05.09.2018 OEM v0.9.1 - Beta9 Resync and you'll get the update automatically.

I know there are still some contents that I need/others want to upload on synback, just reply me with a link and I'll test them out first, before updating syncback just like every file we have now new and old to make sure they don't conflict with each other. ive installed the bikes and they are great but I cannot use them online? I know you mentioned something about that but what can I do to rectify this now I have downloaded them?

Normally he has the server up on Friday's.

My bad, I forgot to turn on the server PC this morning when I left for work. I always shut it down when I wake up 5am and turn it back on at 5:30am before leaving the house.

hi i downloaded everything last night into the correct folder as directed all says sucess but got nothing in my game??

Did you edited your core.ini and selected your mods folder?

there is a bug in this beta!

in the mxb install folder you'll find the core.ini (you can edit with admin rights - open text editor as admin)

folder=

should normally detect the mods folder in \Documents\PiBoSo\MX Bikes\ but somehow it doenst. If you dont have a mods folder, it will create the mods folder with the right subfolders, but you cant use it.

will create a "modsmxbikes" folder that you can use.

Set your folder dir in " " (folder="C:\Users\username\Documents\PiBoSo\MX Bikes\mods\") and you're good to go.

Not sure why I can't figure this out..........   I've downloaded everything but don't see it in the game.  Game is installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mx Bikes and mods are installed to C:\Users\orlovsky\Documents\PiBoSo\Mx Bikes\mods - any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are using a demo version of the game, you cannot use mods. If you bought the game, make sure it is properly registered, and double check the folder structure.

I bought the game back in 2015 so it shouldn't be the demo.  What should my folder structure be/look like?

First you should make sure that you are running with your license key, registered name and profile, etc. If your syncback is set right, it's most likely this. Easy way to check: try connecting to an online server.

Then your folder structure should be this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mx Bikes\tracks ; C:\Program Files (x86)\Mx Bikes\bikes...
And within these folders you should see either XXX.pkz or folder with names of the mods. Example: https://gyazo.com/72589692d4706781b03a100c60734b3b

(the same goes for the ...\Documents\PiBoSo\MX Bikes\mods\ folder. You then get ...\Documents\PiBoSo\MX Bikes\mods\tracks\, etc).

Syncback will be offline for a little while as I am moving and will have to get new isp in my area. Will be back on as soon as I can. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm going to have to dig deeper into this.  I can play in the online servers and it looks like my folder structure is correct, but I still don't see any of the mods (bikes, tracks, gear....) when I am in the game.

Typo in the folder name (mod Vs mods etc)? Other wise, no idea. Are you using the documents mod folder or installing in the game install directory?

I'll check it all out again when I get home.  I am using the documents mod folder.  Thanks for your help!!

Try to check where the ini file points to or move it to the game install folder then. Let us know how it turns out.

Guessing we should wait a while for B10+ bike updates? Considering game updates have been coming SLIGHTLY faster than they used to.

Trying a complete reinstall of everything - game and mods.  Can't run mod profiles in synchback - keep getting an error.  Is that because synchback is offline??

yeah syncback is atm offline - im working on it to bring back syncback on a 24/7 ftp - but i have some problems with setting up the ftp :/

Is the Synchback server still down?  Trying to load the new profiles and getting an error message - just wanted to make sure it's not something I'm doing on my end.

i think so,I believe he said he was in the middle of moving so it would be down for some time

Are there any news about the server status? I installed MXB again after some pause and I'm excited to ride some other tracks than the stock ones  :)

Until syncback is back up and running you can get tracks and other mods here. https://mxb-mods.com/category/uploads/tracks (https://mxb-mods.com/category/uploads/tracks) You will need to register (free) first before you can download/upload content.
