PiBoSo, why are you no longer using the daily development log over on the PiBoSo board?
Perhaps there won't be daily work on the sims anymore :(
Things have really been slowing down around here. Maybe it's the beginning of the end.

Good for you!
I think a lot of people liked to see what was going on behind the scenes though.. Remember the days of being bugged about what's going on? ::)
How about a weekly dev log?

I'm a bit of a pessimist I guess, but this reply has given me more hope.

Me and Snappe will try to post frequent, but surely not daily, updates on development.
Maybe closer to release, though. At the moment there isn't something interesting enough to show.
Just seems odd to me as it takes ZERO time to state a very vague sentence of what you did and not even explain to begin with.
Just get rid of the music video, which probably takes way longer to decide what to post than what was done.
Why stop?
^ in other words....I agree, the beginning of the end.
Which honestly the end was while back.

I doubt this negativity motivates Piboso to work on MXB. I must admit though, that Mx Bikes has never felt this dead before and that I am worried.
I can only speak from my point of view here, but I don't believe this game is dead. I feel like this game is drowning. Now if I remember correctly from a high school first aid course I had to take, if a person is drowning, you've got 4 minutes to regain their consciousness before brain damage becomes a problem. I believe, if we don't revive the game now, then yeah, it'll die. But I think the game can be revived.
Anybody can revive the game, whether it's posting your set up for the newer players or adding a skin or a track or even just a lap time in the FLCS. Anything could be the spark that inspires them to make their own and also contribute.
To be fair, ive only been playing the game since August 2017 and I only joined the forums this year, so I'm still excited by the game, I guess you could say I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I haven't been around since the start, so I'm not yet sick of the waiting around for new updates or the complete lack of online play. I'm still content to run laps just trying to go faster and not crash or trying to make a new skin. And yes these parts can be unmotivating to try and get into the game, sure. But this game to me could be pretty awesome. Sure the physics need work, but I've found that I'm now completely used to them and prefer them (I opened up mx sim last night and quit after 3 laps because everything felt too stiff). And the amazing graphics displayed in the game opens up a avenue of amazing skins, tracks and bike models.
I guess what I'm trying to say, is understand why you guys are over it but all it takes is a few people to really give this game a chance. It has the potential to be really successful with an entire community dedicated to it. And sure, over the next few months/years my own willingness to try and help revive the game might wane and come back, but while this game is still around and there are people still coming to this forum to read new updates or download new creations and there are people willing to dedicate time and effort to make them, then I think that this game can still hold its head above water and slowly learn to swim.

After working on MXB for years, I'm not going to stop or in any way change development just because a random guy spits negativity on the forum.
However, it is indeed surprising that the community is so silent right now, considering that MXB, despite its known flaws, has never been better in terms of physics, netcode, contents, features, ...

Are you sure about the netcode being better than ever before? I haven't been able to play B7 yet (since I'm not home until Feb), but it seems like no-one can get online. It sounds like it's the worst it's ever been, and I'm 100% sure that's what causes the community to be as silent as it is at the moment.

No, not sure about netcode.
Actually pibs, the physics on b7 are quite good!
sadly i havent been able to play online since b7b, everything went bananas and i dont have time to figure out how to make it work, reinstalle everything and it still doesnt work sooo... :'(
Hopefully Beta8 will solve the most obvious problems.

Do you have any idea what causes the online problems?
just managed to get online, someone else was on at the same time too.....mxb club....no mod server...cant get on the mod servers at all....not for a few weeks atleast now.....done all the sync updates to bikes and stuff too........
I am more than positive it is due to the release (which has been reverted) of the OEM's with MX52 tires I put on.
Syncback downloads have them and other servers don't use it (MotoSavage did)......hence can't join.
It is best NOT to use the OEM's on syncback (and should be removed) and download these and all should join on current servers: http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=1979.0

Not yet.
Unfortunately the use of bike mods makes debugging more difficult.
Well, pretty sure syncback doesn't work anymore and only applies to those who did do it.
Back to default tires on oems as in link above.
BUT.......
The reason nobody plays is because tire grip on various surfaces aren't even set (same with oem too) and overall the tire is better on oem, but really bad on default. This makes enjoying stock difficult. The front end (any bike oem or stock) just keeps washing out endlessly and is my biggest annoyance.
The tires are a good step in right direction, but just not there.
Netcode for jumping is lil better, but still can't have good side by side battle with 8+ going. 5 or less is decent, but that's not much fun. We need 40+!!
My 2 cents and why many not "active".

It's hard to tell at the moment.
The tasks list is VERY long :'(
Or just simplify it to 3 things:
1. Race at least with 20+ online
2. Fix memory issues
3. Fix front tire
:)

Pretty sure if you make a list of things which causes these issues you'll have the long list Pibs talks about.

No shit
It helps to simplify and remain focused on the task at hand.
PiB has a tendency to go off track with stuff that doesn't matter much.
Guys, perhaps you tried this already but I can connect to all servers without any problems by doing the following: I have all tracks, bikes, and tyres updated through Syncback. Now, if I remove most of the 'rider' mods and stick to 1 pair of boots (Fox Instinct), 2 sets of gloves (2x Fox), 1 helmet (Fox V4) and 2 outfits (Fox 360 and Flexair), and I guess the max. number depends on your rig, connecting just works ??? 8)
Hope this helps some of you ;)

Today, four years ago, the start.
It's definitely come a long way in 4 years..
Happy birthday MXB 😘
I'm not sure how to embed, but here's the obligatory music video. ;)

Well good, I'll be the "party pooper".
Honestly, the bike behavior looks way better in this video and front end doesn't bounce at all.
So I think much was lost and little gained.
Sure more we got animated chain, shocks and better rider crap.....wow.
Oh! And animated flags
Basically, I'll put it like HornetMax did (best I can)
Community: Fix Netcode; Game crashes
PiB: animated flags
Community: Fix Netcode; Game crashes
PiB: random skies support
Community: Fix Netcode; Game crashes
PiB: stand paint support

PiB: chat color

Yeah Pibs, Happy B-Day MXB!
Hopefully you can bring it all together for steam.
coming back from my another love GP Bikes testing new beta13
and happy birthday to MXB!
by the way, during January i played MXS a lot because of online popularity and it makes me think that, besides threadbare netcode fixes, both games need track rotation feature. i think this will help to avoid complete consuming when people see same 3-4 tracks for weeks or even months, leave after one race and do not come back.
