Post by: ChamP_Mx on April 23, 2018, 11:46:35 PM
Lets just get right into it, you already know.

Do you think the whole Marvin pass on Tomac was to far?

Leave your opinions below, I want to hear them!

Btw here is the last lap past if you didn't see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sJ8Odbmcks

Tomac over played the victim as always..

Marv was probably a bit out of his comfort zone making an aggressive pass like that and was right when he said it could have ended badly for him too.

Tomac cut in tight across several lines from the outside. If he hadn't have done that it would have been a regular block pass.

Tomac isn't the victim at all it's just racing. He admitted to taking out Webb on purpose at Daytona which is much worse IMO.

Really comes down to who you like, that normally determines who you think is in the wrong. I'm not a big fan of either..

What happened is a direct result of the FIM being a money grabbing piece of shit.

Supercross is becoming dangerous, money involved is rising, the last few year and this early season has shown a lot of dangerous situations. Riders are too fast (skill is rising, bikes are overpowered, tracks are too fast in general), not enough visibility, aggressivity is praised instead of being sanctioned. The begining of this year was one of the worse I saw, with brutal block passes since race 1, over half of the top 10 out on injuries for the season / couple of races. Half that shit is due to the FIM not stepping up to prevent dangerous behaviour. So riders feel like they have a wild card, when the FIM sanctions it's laughable (lol Anderson's sanction for a begning incident), so riders just go balls deep and know they might, if someone didn't get his 8h sleep last night, get docked a few spots. After the fact, so sponsors get full exposure and noone talks about it too much. And then, A. Martin gets sanctioned to shit for something he could barely see beause he is a tame rider in general and doesn't take the spotlight that well.

It's currently the same in GP, Marquez should have been black flagged last race after taking the track the wrong way. Instead, he went through the back, managed to get a couple of riders to fall, and got docked after the fact. Several former world champions say that Marquez doesn't belong on a race-track currently, and they are betting good money he won't make it in one piece to the end of his career. Shit, if I sandbag the main line on a local track during a practice session (in France, so directly FIM), I get black flagged for the session. If I repeat, for the day.

Marvin should have been sanctionned. Barcia should have gotten a 1 year suspension after the shit he was constantly pulling years ago. Etc etc. I'm fine with contacts, I think block passes are generally fine but I mock them as it usually means you don't have the speed to pass properly, T-bones are straight shit and dangerous. When your attempt at passing a guy involves getting into his line with a 90° angle and no way to make the turn yourself, you don't belong on a race track.

I'm so pissed at seeing the sport get ruined.

This sport is for men, not for boys. Proves the point of Euros needing their own championship AND sanctioning body. We have the AMA and don't really want or need FIM to water down the racing and WADA to hand out disproportionate penalties. Obviously, if that happened, all we'd have is 5 less riders and a top-level competition, not child's-play like every other sport that's been ruined by pacifying the safety police. What's next? Trophies for every participant so no feelings are hurt? This also is an abnormal year for injuries. Go hold your own padded, restricted-power fully caged safety parade and see who shows.

That was the point. We need to be independent like the AMA Nationals are.

I'm confused, why is Europe to blame for dumbing down, padding up, over regulating and political correctness in sport?

europe is responsible for most health and safety plus PC type shit..

Pizza is right, the AMA needs to rid FIM from its boundaries, they have brought the racing to a alltime dog shit level.

ANYWAY......... Please someone tell me they watched the 450sx press conference? (fire emoji)
