Post videos of tracks here to keep them separated from the pictures.  8)

My first track based off a real life track. I used the same path, but changed a couple jumps around.

Video of the track in game:

Actual video:

What do you guys think so far?

I want to touch up the terrain some more, and once that's perfect, I want to add objects that make the facility look more like a replica.

I actually made the terrain all by myself. I used earthsculptor for the first time. I painted an overlay of the track and used your jump template brushes pulse. Pulse, you were the inspiration for making a track =).

So nearly finished the gravel pit track. Lots of fun to ride, big jumps big corners bit bumpy. Really made it to test out textures and what you can get away with.

So far I have it real nice looking, rock, gravel, compacted gravel track surface, all with their own normal maps to make the textures pop. Also made rutts with tire tracks which have normals and you really do notice them when riding in game although I'm not sure I'll do it again - will take a bit more work to get them to look spot on but have tried to make them looks as deep as possible without changing the heightmap as it bones the riding factor. Also used the gravel surface so you get a nice light roost and the back end is a bit more happy.

Will release soon, just gotta re-build the centerline and sort the gates out as I've spaced them apart by 4 feet each for no reason!

So what do you think?

I just get a white box in preview, so here is a link just in case you cant see it

Supercross is hard. Here's a track I started on. I had some clean laps too, but most of my laps look like this one. You have to be super smooth.

I'm sorry, but why would you make a thread for every track? We have two topics for progress already, the pictures and this video topic. Having a different topic for each track's progress wouldn't make this forum any clean. The way it is now is good IMO.

Although I haven't spent a lot of time there, I kind of like the way it seems to happen on the GP Bikes forum where you get a track thread, progress pics updates and beta downloads.. But fair enough  ;)

But you have to consider this.

If the physics are fixed for this game (I'm sorry Pibsoso, but this really needs to happen) the game will probably have a lot more players than GP-bikes, so also more people on the forum. If there are 100 guys making a track, you'll have 100 different topics about tracks. IMO it's better to just have everything in one topic.

Regarding the sx track... there are still a lot of tweaks I need to make to the heightmap. I want all rhythm options to be available. It's pretty good where it's at... definitely challenging. I just want it to be a lot cleaner.

That looks fun :) I can tell how delicate you are being though trying to keep it smooth. It lack that balls to the walls feeling i get watching sx. I know
thats due to how difficult the bikes are to keep upright though :)

Can i have a copy of that track to play with please?

I will probably put up a build once I'm satisfied with the heightmap.  Would probably be a good practice to put it out there and then open an online room to get instant feedback while doing laps.

Teaser of my upcomming tracks. I'm working on both the MX and enduro now. The MX is a replica of the old Archview track (the one that looked like the most fun to me). The enduro is a fantasy track, not too long but fun for sure!

But just from one jump I can tell Archview is looking great!

Good job man, looking forward to it  8)

In the spirit of keeping things in the right place, here is the latest teaser for TNMX..

Note: Objects are half finished. Cameras were done before objects so some need adjusting (last corner before finish cam is behind banners) Textures I'm still not sure whether I like or not.. But they will do for now!

looks good, Fat. Here is my first effort at getting objects in... didn't want to spend a lot of time on models if it was going to be too much effort to get them in. turns out it's easy so i'll model an actual stadium now instead of this stand in one i made real quick.

Little track I'm working on to release in beta2. TNMX will have to wait for beta 3 in case there's anything I need to do to get it running right as I did after beta 1 - 2. Also while I try and figure out the tree alpha problem.

Anyway, farm track made for hotlaps as it's about 50 sec to 1 min on average. Took inspiration mainly from the well loved practice track, just wanted to make something with the same level of quality just for more advanced riders. Also took some inspiration from rc's outdoor track which made me want to make something short and fun.

Bit tech with some rhythm, nice whoops, you can really nail the inside line on some of the corners, it's really fun! Nearly finished, should have it done in a day or two when I get a chance to fix the race data.

Most of the views are track cams, but the two big tables I had to cut to onboard in the edit as the track cams aren't behaving lol..

I'll release mine some time. I have to.. Kamloops made me a lot of objects so it'd be stupid to not release it. It'll probably never be done, and neither is it that much fun IMO, but I'll just release it after beta 3 is released.

I'm not home from 7am to 6pm almost every day now, except for the weekends, I don't have much time to do anything at all.

Had a blast around here the other day and the layout's fun for sure. The crossover and the steep cliff just before the large gap landing was lots of trouble on a 250 though (didn't try 350 yet). It was a bit hit and miss, but mostly miss (well more Splatt! really lol) on that big gap. Tried adjusting rear suspension to get better traction down the hill before, but it didn't seem to help me clear the cliff face reliably. Also when you crash on that jump it takes a while to get going again as it's proper steep (this time it's not the game physics, I think that really would be very difficult to ride IRL), even trying to turn away from the face of the cliff after a reset is not easy. Oddly after several frustrating resets on it the bike seemed to be catapulted up over the face and onto the track? Handy in this instance, but very odd, I'll see if can get a video next time I run it.
Also if you crash and reset on the crossover but while you were not doing the jump it puts you back on track like you were, so back to the cliff face issue then too lol

This does highlight an issue we need fixing though, as SX tracks have crossovers on them this behaviour would make these very troublesome as things stand.

And Fats, really appreciate your work man.

Just made this locally for reference and thought I'd upload it. Looks pretty good to me with the exception of the downhill double towards the end - think mine is too soon.

I slow down after the big step up to wait for the video as the guy with the GoPro dodges a downed rider. Other than that I was pinning it where I could.
