I'm trying to export these mountains (see image 3) with the texture but fbx2edf just stops it's progress right at the end and then just sits.
Doesn't freeze or crash, just sits. (see image 1)
I included the blender shader view as well in case that's where my issue is.
Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that it won't use all those shaders. If all of those are to make the final texture, you might be better off just rendering that texture from top view and applying it to the object's material. MXB (FBXtoEDF) will only use the Diffuse and NormalMap images on the material - none of the shaders - that is done in the SHD file for the texture during conversion - and only accepts allow use of Normal/Spec and Reflection maps.
I could be wrong though, but pretty sure that is your problem.
that's what I intially thought as well. But after exporting one without a texture applied, I think it's actually due to my poly count of the mesh itself.
Is there a limit on how many polygons fbx2edf will handle?
Alright I think it was a mix of both. I was able to grab an old fbx export of the mountains, slapped a rendered version of the mountains shader over it, and it converted no problem in fbx2edf.
Now I'm facing this:
After converting and creating the map file, the geometry is very ugly, which wasn't happening before. I tried recalculating the normals but that did nothing.
Thoughts?
hahah, I literally just had this problem. Apply the scale on your object before export.
And I'm assuming that this is going to be used in your background.edf?
Apply the scaling in blender before export? Could you elaborate?
well currently I have just been adding this into my hmf file as the "scene2".
apply the scale to object in Blender - are you on the discord server?
I am not. Is there a chance I can get a link to that?
