Here you got Paleta Raceway. Just wanted to release another one before beta 3 so you all got something new to play with. I wanted to make Pala but really couldn't deal with a replica, just wanted to make something fantasy as I find it more enjoyable to be creative so it's just supposed to be a generic Cali type track. It's got what you'd expect, big doubles, step ups, tables, whoops, a big uphill step up, and pits and gates for 20 riders. Also the race data and marshals should be spot on, unlike Field 44 where the marshals float which I will update for beta 3 - At least I hope so, won't know until we run it online I suppose!
Hope you all enjoy it, the textures aren't perfect and neither is the scenery, but the heightmaps good and it's better than nothing! No collision, I could have added it but there isn't really anywhere I could see it was going to benefit the overall experience, so have fun and if you go off track it's not a major problem. I can add collision in on the beta 3 recompile if you guys would rather have it.

Not sure about Lommel, looks like nothing but whoops all the way round lol, not sure that would translate well in MXB! Have been thinking about Matterly Basin for a while, but gotta finish up TNMX for beta 3 first.

Well my best on the 350xf is a 1.29 something.. But teeds I think has managed a 1.27 on the 250xf, but he is super fast lol.

Ye Teeds got a 1.27.7 on the 250xf if i remember correctly. I've managed to get a 1.27.1 on a 250xf, a 1.26 should be possible for sure.

OK, so i just tried the 250 and im actually really happy with it. I had tried before but couldn't make the final jump before the turn to the finish, i was always coming up short.
So i opened the garage and clicked some buttons (don't know which lol) and now i can clear that jump.
So after about 5 laps i hit within half a second of my 350 time, and bearing in mind i have put MANY hours into the 350 that is pretty impressive. I think i can probably knock another 3 seconds off that because i know where im being very sloppy :)
1.34 on the 250 :)
Best, most ride-able track in the game period. 8)

Hmm I'd guess slower but can't decide if the deforming terrain will make life harder due to the extra roughness or will it give extra grip due to a groove forming, for instance, on the inside of flat turns. But then if those grooves get too deep (as in IRL) they might get slower, and will we get only grooves or also bumps in the grooves where braking or accelerating takes place? If not it might also be feasible for track makers to bake in solid rough terrain under the deformable stuff to make riders change line after the best one is too worn out/deep? Come on B3 ;D

Majorly yes. But I don't want to resize. Not sure if the 'too fast' issue is going to be addressed, but it's possible to overshoot things in real life so being a simulation it will be possible to overshoot things on Paleta ;)
But in reality, it's not too bad. Definitely not a track breaker..

Think I've got the deformation how I want it, although without testing online it's going to be hard to tell what 4 or 5 bikes will do to it over a bunch of laps with multiple lines..

Nope 1:15 was right. Had to re-do the centerline earlier and it threw the race data off so for some reason it was recording over 2 minute laps making me think that writing 1:15 was a typo! Have re-done the race data and we're back to the normal sub 1:20

Dude I'm sorry, I tired to get this sorted a while back and couldn't figure out why it stopped working. Unfortunately the way I have it set up it's not just file locations, probably too complex really but I wanted people to have to sign up to download to avoid any potential server overloads as the server it's on is for a separate private business.
I then went through a week of trying to fix my laptop HD and gave up swapping it out, but unfortunately I lost the majority of my stuff including bookmarks and installed stuff. I'm waiting to get cPanel login and password sent to me so I can get in and extract it manually, try and repair it or re-upload.
In the mean time if someone else could dropbox it that would be great.. :)

I feel a bit embarrassed every time I play Paleta online as I've learned loads since I made it, but I'm glad it's such a loved track so I decided a while back it needed revamping. Every single section and jump re-shaped (95% new heightmap), everything re-textured, new objects, new race data..

Quick update.. Given up on background.edf and am just going to make 3 new skies. Looking pretty good so far, sky itself needs some tweaking though.
The mountains in the background are custom made, the scene is made from seven 2049 x 2049 images taken from google earth in highest quality and stitched together as a model. Took a long time but well worth it and 100% custom 8)

I was thinking of updating it for b6 soon actually. The ruts do work currently, it's just the texture doesn't erode so quickly.
