There are no plans to make a terrain sculpting editor, because there already are so many on the market.
There ARE plans to turn TerrainEd into a proper editor to interactively edit the texture layers and place the objects.

This is not meant to be disrespectful or anything YZ.... but there are already plenty of easy to use terrain editors that exist. I don't see a need for the community to create something that already exists.

The planned updates to terrain ed sound great!

This would be great!! I am able to make terrain, just a slow learner at getting it into mxb, so a newb/user friendly TerrainEd would be awesome!
