Bug Reports / rider FPV camera low rpm shake
May 08, 2020, 07:46:35 AM
I don't know if this technically counts as a bug but when the 1st person camera is locked to rider and not the bike (in settings) the riders view micro shakes from side to side at low RPMs/speeds (a simular problem used to rear it's ugly head on certain tracks in the past). This is headache inducing and makes it impossible to play in this view. When the view is fixed to the bike there are no such issues.

I use ED-tracker, don't know if that affects it or not.

Can we at least get an option to remove the shaking if it is indeed intended to shake (for immersion?)?

Thanks for the replies guys. Guess I'll keep trying and hopefully I will get some feeling for it.

In B14b I can't feel that moving the rider forward or backward in the air has any effect on the bike. Also when I use the rear brake in the air the front tire does not come down as it should. All this leads to a lot of incidents when you accidentally have a bit too much power off the jump then you are screwed because you land like doing a wheelie... Have others noticed this as well or is it just me?

I tried it in Beta 11 and it worked fine, some handling issues, probably because of the before mentioned lack of updates. Have not tried it in Beta 12 yet...

I played the crap out of the MCM2 demo since it allowed online play. Can't remember my online name, lol. Didn't buy it until too late to enjoy much online play since I was busy learning Grand Prix Legends. 56k modem FTW! I still have my 7 floppies for Windows 3.1 and some games like Grand Prix and Flight Sim 4 or 5. Good times.
Grand Prix !!
But I have to admit that, despite I'm not a big car sim fan, the strongest memory I have from that era is Indianapolis 500: 1 track (oval) and that's all. I played it 100% length plenty of times. And no, it had no online :)

yeah, Indianapolis 500 was good. And of course Geoff Crammond Grand Prix and the ones that followed in that series. Found this and it gave me flashbacks (in a good way). :) Lot of hours spent on that one...

I turn off hud completely in most games bc I like the immersion.. I only ride in 1st person and can easily see that I am seated or standing. The handlebars are considerably closer when seated and it becomes easy to know the more I play.

Sit and stand a few times to familiarize with the animation.

It's not always possible to see the handlebar. It depends on field of view setting, manual rider f/b lean and if you are turning or not. It can also be hard to see when the bike is moving a lot going over a series of bumps for example. I think an hud indicator (that can be turned on or off depending on your personal preference) is an easy solution.

I played a lot of MCM and MCM2, and I had an US Robotics modem (love that name btw). Anyone remember Edgar Torronteras' Extreme Biker (Sierra 1999) :) I used to work as a video game reviewer so I got a copy of most games (some were "gold"-discs or wierd variants were the copy protection of a pre-release game could be a dongle you plugged into the printer port"). Also have "classics" like Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing and Castrol Honda Superbike 2000 to name a few of the less popular ones.

My skins (bikes and rider)

I used http://www.mxb-central.com/2016-alpinestars-tech7-pack/ for the boots. The rest (with a little inspiration for the helmet design from http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=692.msg10361#msg10361 :) ) is all me. As you can see I go for "concept"  :P Just got a bit "funky" with the Pitbike (btw, I think "Archview mx park" would be a perfect track for chaotic Pitbike races!).

Just me, but I can't stand the toggle because I forget to press it to stand back up, lol. Love the direct option for this.

I have X for sit, and use square and O for down/upshift.

Puts it in good place where I can shift while sitting by rolling thumb over gears. If that makes any sense.

Hmm.....maybe u have too much mapped on custom controller?

I use right stick for rider movements, BUT I use auto rider movements. This way I only need to manually use it when needed.

So, basically my right thumb is mainly on x, o, square, lol.

Mine is a bit different... :)

Or just select the direct option for sitting and anytime you are pressing the button you know your sitting. If not, then your not

I would, but my custom controller is made in a way that it is very hard to keep holding a button and steering/using clutch at the same time. I do have an analog thumb button on the left side, and it has a button feature, much easier to just press once for sit/stand than holding it.

Right now it is very hard to know in 1st person if you are standing or sitting on the bike. A small indicator icon would really help. Maybe Max (MaxHud) could work something out if he had the data from you to do it?
