For me, I don't think it's actually content. I just think Online should be more accessible and quicker. Would be nice if I could join a server online and just race. Have it switch tracks when race is over in a rotation and then just race the next one. Practice and qualifying and what not is great and should definitely be kept as an option... but there's something to be said for just being able to get in and play a couple and get out. I think games like reflex or even mx sim did this fairly well. I remember many times in those games saying just one more race... and ended up doing 5 or 6 more. Just because of how easy it was to keep going.

I also think being able to switch bikes while having the track loaded and in game would be a nice feature, rather than having to leave to the menus, switch and load everything back up.

Lastly, as far as mod content goes... It's not too hard, however if you want to keep a player base... requiring effort to install mods that the servers are using and that everyone keeps up to date is going to turn people away. I know I've booted up the game several times to play online only to find out I didn't have the right content for what everyone was playing and just decided not to play instead. Didn't want to hunt down the content... just wanted to play. I know that sounds lazy, but when you only have so much time to play something... you don't want to spend that time searching, asking others where to get it, downloading and installing content.

This is a great sim, but people do have to put a lot of time in it to get the greatness out of it. And these days, personally, I just don't have that kind of time.

I run two GTX 770's in SLI and the game runs fine. I have not checked however if the game supports SLI. But I've never had any issues with the game and my setup.

Have you ever had any of those problems? Would love to see Mace's wheels in game!

Which issues? adding mud maps, reflections, spec, norm, etc?

It's the same as bikes. you pack them all in the .fbm for the .fbx before running through fbx2edf.
you'll need all the same kind of scripts you would for bike shaders as well.

Hey Alex... if you want to catch me on steam sometime I can help guide you with wheels and bikes and whatever else.

Wheels are much like the bikes.
There are a few scripts and you can open the pitbike wheels to get an idea.

All textures and shader scripts work the same as bikes before going through .fbx to .edf.

just be sure to get scale right and you'll need to change some things in the script such as wheel radius, width, etc.

If you want to do an animated chain, that's trickier... but I have been able to get it working. It took me a lot of trial and error to get it to face the right direction and rotate properly. basically the chain has to have a separate material on it, can't remember exactly what it needs to be named off the top of my head... but then in the script you set that material to scroll (animate).

I'm pretty busy usually, but it is possible to catch me on steam.
Good luck

I'm not looking at it presently, nor am I in a place I can look... but in FBX2EDF there should be a tick box that says recalculate normals or something like that. I had that issue once and that seemed to fix it.

General Discussion / Re: MXB Bikes Mod Dead?

TFC pretty much summed it up.
I might add that it's not that fun to spend a lot of time on something... and then the next beta comes out making everything you did obsolete. So I also think there are modders waiting for a more finalized platform.

some super minis would be fun. Here's a video that gdub did of the pitbikes I made to show the bigger rider on smaller bikes.

General Discussion / Hey guys!

I've been getting lot's of messages wondering where I've been. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm not dead. Just very busy lately having a great life with work and family. Still love this game and community and good people I've met through it. Will be back into more participation soon. I've been enjoying everyone else's creations as well.
(now if only we could get a proper mountain bike trail made hmm.)  :)

I think you should use stock bikes when re-creating bugs. Could very well be something we modders are messing up.

Good stuff, cheers fella.

Question, the '12 bike is downloading with a filename of 09crfbikes.rar, is that right?

Yeah.... sorry. 450 is labeled as 09 and 250 as 12... because the 250 was not like that in 09. The 450 was basically the same from 09-12
