The Mountain



Rip through the slopes on this downhill, slalom style motocross track. It gives off the feel of a local track but is ready to hold events up to 30 riders a race.

Thanks to TFC, Resolute Kraken, and Niko Mouk for all the tutorials in the forums and help in Discord!

Disclaimer: This is not meant to be an advertisement for anything. Just a fun side project I wanted to share! Mods if it violates any forum rule feel free to take it down.

I began learning about Unreal Engine's new Chaos physics. They look pretty sweet with vehicles and decided to start this offroading game project. The physics are very customizable. I have not coded any part of the physics other than changing values to get that "trophy truck" style. I will be coding the rest of the project myself though. I understand the Unreal Engine as well as 3D Modeling fairly well, so I think I could produce something pretty cool. I would love feedback from you guys as this journey continues! Here's a little preview of what I got going on.

Whipped this thing up. Everything is unwrapped. Most textures are done, just need to texture the new 2020 plastics on there. Just dont have a clue how to get it into game. Sat here for 2 days reading over this tutorial and no luck. If anybody has some free time and wants to help me out in getting this into game that would be sweet.

Bug Reports / Game Pauses 5-10 Seconds When Someone Joins

Every single time someone joins the server that I am in the game pauses for 5-10 seconds. It seems to vary on the length of the pause. Any fix for this? Makes the game almost unplayable for me.

Ah yes. Thank you! There is no edf export for 2016 3ds Max is there? I'll have to get the 2010 version for it to work right?

Oh okay I'm starting to understand a little better. Is there a folder of a complete bike with all of the files in it that I could possibly reference to?

I am trying to export a TM model I made a while back and I am using the Bike Tools. I just dont know how to open a .geom file into the program because I dont know what that is! Do you convert an obj into a geom file? If so, how do i go about doing so?

Snappe, do you mean like how do the bars move and what does the rider do in assisting a the bike? TheFatController is right too, the bike does what to straighten itself out but that is not a massive effect. It is mainly which way the bars are going. The rider would shift his weight on the lip of the jump to get the bike going in a sideways motion and when the bars are turned back in the opposite direction the bike starts to center itself.

This video can give you somewhat of an idea by studying their motions when they whip.

Hello Pib and Snappe, great game so far! Just have a few problems with physics:


  • In-air control of bike seems to not be present. I can whip but can not bring it back.
  • The bars in-air move a little too quick for a realistic characteristic.
  • Steering force is way too quick at slower speeds and I have serious trouble getting up a hill I fall on.

Other than that the game is off to a great start!

How to put in Directory:

  • Find MX Bikes Directory
  • Locate bikes.pkz
  • Change "bikes.pkz" to "bikes.rar"
  • Open the "bikes.rar" and extract the "bikes" folder to the MX Bikes Directory
  • Open bikes--->350xf--->paints
  • Insert "GravityFX.pnt" into "paints" folder
