Another quirk I just noticed: in MXB m_iSessionNumLaps in SPluginsRaceSession_t dopesn't seem to be set, it's always zero.
Seems to work fine in GPB however.

Thanks MaX..

I'm sure enough people use this it's a shame not many have replied and thanked.
Thanks !

I'm a lazy dog myself so I can't complain :)

One bug I noticed in this latest build - Not sure if it's MXB or MaX hud - If you're riding with rumble on and the session ends taking you to the pit, the rumble doesn't stop and just runs continuously.
Hmm that definitely shouldn't happen, I'll have look.

Temporary workarounds (bad ones, I know): go to track again and it should  stop, or use the .exe that comes with the plugin to stop the rumble (it's included in case MXB crashes while rumbling, happened to me once with GPB and only solution was reboot, hence the .exe).

Example source code updated to the latest interface.
Minor: many fields (e.g. m_iSession, m_iSessionState, m_iReason)  lack the comment/descritpion in many race structures.
For some is no biggie, as the field is described elsewhere, others I just take them from GPB :)

Patches are meant for code-only quick bug fixes, not improvements that need time and testing.
Agree. Just thought that the change in question was a fairly simple thing (apparently it's not the case).

More connection information will be packed with other features and fixes in Beta10.

Cool.

Admittedly, I haven't tried that recently: does the server still reply "Missing bike" or "Bike mismatch" without telling you which holy-fuc#!n-bloody bike is missing / mismatching ?

Yes  :-[
Isn't that the perfect situation for a hotfix-style patch ? As in "Release9b, just download the updated exe"

Plugins / Re: UDP Proxy

Ah ok. Data for a motion platform or bike controller maybe?
Amongst other stuff. The thing this new stuff adds is the ability to easily send the telemtry data to a different computer (over a LAN or the net).
If everything runs on the same computer, there's likely little need to use UDP instead of the normal proxy stuff. Unless I've missed something :)

Since it's all Greek to me, what does this achieve? It must be to improve online racing.
Before that, if one needed to code an application that receives bike's data from GPB in real time, the only options were a GPB plugin or a separate app using the proxy plugin.
Now you can also use a separate app simply listening to the UDP port.

Plugins / Re: MaxSCL - A tool to edit .scl files (engine sounds)
« on: July 16, 2018, 06:28:32 PM »
v1.4 out (2018/07/16):

  • For GPB beta14, should work for MXB beta8 too (haven't checked too much though).
  • Added buttons to mute/unmute a sinlge sample or layer. Note that the mute status i snot saved to the .scl file.
  • Added support for tyres folder. If a bike uses shared tyres (e.g. the bike 'MotoGP_2017_HONDA_RC213V_MDL1' uses tyres 'Michelin_MotoGP_17'), you must set the 'Tyres folder': from the main window, use menu Main/Tyres folder to point to the correct folder. MaxSCL will try to load the tyre data from that folder firtst (if set) and from the bikes folder after.

Thanks again for the update!

Just wondering - and sorry if I missed it - how do you calculate the suspensions travel % ? I'm surprised it shows less than 100% even when in the air, and thus wonder if you can go below 0% or something.

I just normalize the susp length to the susp max travel, hence it should always be 0-100%. Guess only PiBoSo can answer this (why it doesn't reach 100%).

does this work with beta 8?

Not yet. I'll probably update it when the next GPB release is out too.

The file NPclient64.dll is used for the TrackIR ( Natural Point ) interface. It is an official file, but unfortunately it is not correctly loaded by MX Bikes beta8 either.
The FreeTrack interface should use freetrackclient64.dll instead.
OpenTrack can "emulate" TrackIR too (i.e. it can send EdTracker output via a TrackIR interface).
So, in absence of a freetrackclient64.dll, should this do the trick ? Maybe only after the fix you mentioned on top of beta8 ?
