Seems like its worth a shot to try and get this thing to sound half way like a real 2-stroke (may be impossible)

Obviously needs plenty of work.
Anyone who has audio experience please take what I do and make it better!

Would be so much better if MXB had the option to segregate all the gears and change the audio for each one.

Other / Rev Limiter Fix!

(Offline use only for now, so tread lightly)

I stumbled across a fix for the VERY annoying rev limiter. It is WAY too easy to hit the limiter. I have been trying to make sound mods, I quickly got suspicious of the speed at which we hit the limiter while the rear tire is still on the ground. Fixed!

This simple fix will make the bike only hit the limiter while the rear tire is off the ground. It sounds and feels so much better.

This mod requires you to modify one line of code within the file "BikeOfChoice.CFG"

Example Bike: OEM 2016 Suzuki RM-Z250
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Bikes\bikes

1)Unzip: MX2OEM_2016_Suzuki_RM-Z250.pkz 
2)Open Unzipped Folder:  MX2OEM_2016_Suzuki_RM-Z250
3)Open File: MX2OEM_2016_Suzuki_RM-Z250.cfg
4)Add 1500 RPM to the original RPM Limiter Code (adjust to your liking if need)
example: BEFORE
NumLimiter = 1
Limiter0 = 14000

example: AFTER
NumLimiter = 1
Limiter0 = 15500

5)Make sure to get the paints from the existing MX2OEM_2016_Suzuki_RM-Z250.folder within C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Bikes\bikes and move them into the edited unzipped folder/paints
6)Remove MX2OEM_2016_Suzuki_RM-Z250.pkz from C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Bikes\bikes and replace/overwrite with the MX2OEM_2016_Suzuki_RM-Z250.folder

Updated:11/24/2017 - Switched to MONO in hopes to fix the online sound issue GDUBMX was experiencing.

Figured I would move this over here for my 2 projects..

I am sure a good audio guy will actually pull these sound mods off the proper way and much better, but for now I will release my attempts as I update them. Mainly because we really don't have many sound options yet.

I can't seem to run Max's plugin to blend the audio and test it.. HAHA (so, I hope you have high hopes for the future of my mod?! :o)

This is all done kinda backwards but kinda works. It will sound good sometimes and bad sometimes.

It's not "dynamic" and doesn't "flow" in the way the sounds engine wants it to. I cheated by only editing the Idle/Low/Mid/High basically. You will notice that your throttle management will trigger these different sound files and the better you get at playing with that the better the sound is..but enough said.  It's a wip, hope you either enjoy or get inspired to make us some good sounds!

Two Options For Install:

1)Strictly New Sounds; remove all .wav files from your 250 of choice, add my .wav files.  & make sure to replace/overwrite the "sfx.cfg" with the one I included.

2) Mixed Sounds: Basically allowing mx-bikes to fill the gaps in audio with stock sounds that I have yet to make. Just copy all files from the download into the bike of choice and allow it to overwrite. (including "sfx.cfg")
          (easiest I would say and sounds fine/maybe best? mixed for now)

REV LIMITER FIX

There is definitely a huge diff in the modded tyre.. I would say it's spot on. If we could just get rid of the terrible front end lock that happens very often, this would be major leap forward in being able to really push the bikes without the worry of quick slips and front lock. Sometimes I am literally riding straight ahead, touch rider lean and bam, face plant.

Is it at all possible to try these tyres out with the mxbikes stock bikes? I really want to know how it rides.

Like the title says, I'm thinking MX52 + front end lock fixed as a quick fix(wishful of me to believe front end lock is a quick fix haha, sorry) and then all focus on netcode for a while.  Wishful thinking, Im NO backseat dev for sure.

Just goofed around for a bit to see if only doing the material names/masks make for good SM fun.. it works very well!!

Ignore the awful track, just cool to see and feel the track transition from asphalt to dirt and back without having to make objects!

Here is a link to this "not polished turd", haha..  just a test track I literally slapped together. After a couple laps it and learnign the poor timing on jumps, it can be fun! (not meant for any type of release)

I am well aware a.i. is on the lowest of tasking.. and its fully understandable..

but, lets ramble about an idea I have and how it will or won't ever work. ahahha


1)FORGET A.I.
2)We do have GHOST..
3)Allow multiple ghosts
4)Allow ghosts to be updated with other rider's ghost..
5)race the hell out of faster riders ghost.. up to maybe 5?

sounds fun? seems easy enough for a back seat dev to dream up with ZERO dev experience..so its obviously a great idea ?! lulz

Races / Future Championships - OEM or Standard?

Hey all,

    I have been unable to play and pay much attention but am finally coming back around, looks to me like the OEM bikes are taking off in popularity on the boards.

Purpose of this post is to know what type of bike is best for me to start practicing again for upcoming races we may have (considering the new tracks, etc).

Are they going to be standard or oem specific national races or whatnot?

I super enjoy the Warthog A10C fully simulated aircraft..  (not A10a)

The fact that I had to "study" up on how to just start the damn engines, to finally getting good hits on ground targets, is just stupid rewarding!

I've been sooo busy with work... possibly moving a state away very soon and such. I figured just release this half done in the editing section for funziez.. why not!

Plenty of placeholder stuff but the track is a basic replica of a local track I have ridden.

The powerlines are 70% mine, love em! but started off as 3D warehouse shareware (so credit where due)

The barrels are 3d warehouse and too big...so yea, kinda placeholder

and some other obvious fails hahah!

The track in real life is not a first class track so I like the way it turned out, kinda rough around the edges and not perfect.. the objects/background/textures are all wip fo sho.

Track Editing / Background/Skydome? .EDF

Am I missing a tutorial about background.edf?

Seems like I remember a conversation about a sphere/skydome used to make the sky or background?


Couple immediate issues:

I made a half sphere/sky dome in SkUp but when I add the picture, it only fills in a section or splits the pic up.

If I ever figure out adding a pic to the dome, how do I get the file into .edf format?

The new reset system is awesome, thank you!


I would like to request an addition, the ability to walk the bike backwards...

Sometimes I reset facing a fence and the ability to push or walk back a little would solve this like real life..

Right now we are forced to do the 3sec reset when this happens.. (thanks for keeping this feature!)

First of all, I didn't realize the practice track got such a nice update!! (and MX Club!!)

Just want to Thank Piboso again for the "Lateral off-set" option while riding 3rd person.

Would love to see more options beyond "lateral" so I can angle/tilt the camera more to my liking but man o man, thank you!!

I love 1st person and prefer it in a SIM, but I really really enjoy 3rd person sometimes (never understood why devs always "lock" you directly behind the bike)

This lateral off-set (i put it all the way offset) is perfect because I like to see the whole bike, both wheels while navigating jumps etc.

I get alot more precision and feedback on what the bike is doing throughout the track (also, cool just to see more of the bike)
The only mx game I've ever been able to do 3rd person was MXvsATv series bc of lateral camera.

Thank you so much, now I can enjoy 3rd!!

Your all invited to my house! Well, virtually speaking  ;)

Work is about to get super busy for the month of December so I wanted to go ahead and release this semi-"complete" project. This is/was a learning project and wasn't really meant to be released but I don't see why not for content sake! It has turned out ok enough imo.  Maybe this will be the start of me being able to add "complete" content once I understand a few more things!!

If you're not happy with the jumps, I left you a shovel and a wheel barrow  :D

**use 3D grass!  It's how my field is and is a part of the replica. Not a big area of 3D grass so your pc "should" be ok.. if you don't you will see noob texturing skillz.

  • Still learning to texture (especially ground/track)

  • Not sure how to make a working "race" & "trainer"

I am more or less just posting updates for giggles.. but it sure is fun trying to create a replica of the yard and house and ride it just like I did when I had my yzf426!

Trying to figure out plants! 2d of course..

It's wierd riding my old bike in my yard hahah!

Anyway, this project is just for fun and learning.. maybe it will teach me to make better/complete content one day!

All replica as close as i can at the moment, even the jump by the side of the house :)
