Support / Re: Syncing

you would think piboso and crew are well aware of these connectivity issues ruining the experience of this awesome game for so many... maybe they would be working on a fix? or narrowing down any tips for frustrated players so they can actually join a server and ride with people.

the only way for me to play online is if i create my own server and hopefully someone joins... otherwise, ive been syncing for literally months now.

Quote from: teeds on June 13, 2020, 12:12:20 PMSteam makes it easier, you don't have the hassle of updating the game as it's done for you. Not sure what's going on with your Steam key though?

Me neither... I sure dont want to buy the game again to play through my steam library... any suggestions?

ok, so mxb was in my library on a shared library of a friend... so, from my understanding, i would only be able to play when hes not online, right? so i go searching through steam to add to MY library and in order to install i have to buy it through steam?  ???

sorry if this is elementary, im somewhat computer illiterate, if ya cant tell... to be honest, this instance is the exact reason ive used the stand alone version all this time.

well bummer. i converted the key to steam when it launched on steam... been a long time ago and never had to use steam to play! ive literally hopped on the stand alone version and ripped up until, randomly, now i cant.  i freakin hate steam. always needing to update before i can do anything.  and i literally only play mxb, specifically because of the disc space thing.  guess ill deal with it if there's no way to reverse it.

ok... i redownloaded 14d and tried again. still getting the message.

I have steam installed on my lappy, but i dont use it often at all.. when i go to steam library and select mx bikes it says i have to install it... i have the stand alone version already installed and all mods working. im working with limited disk space and dont want to download it through steam having two of the same applications taking up double the space... id much rather just play the stand alone.  HELP

great track ma man. tight, flowy and fun... thanks for the content to our community!
Quote from: Ruubs on May 22, 2020, 06:23:25 PMYou can do this already.

In the garage view, simply select which setup you want for each session.

I did this as i already had the settings saved as "overclocked"... i selected it upon entering the session...  but when the race portion hit, the mxr was a turd. went to the garage and "default" was shown.
so, running the alta mxr on glen helen, i noticed that during practice i went to garage and changed the mapping to "overclocked" and switched some gearing up just to be able to hang.  the server voted to race, and took me to the events screen with the pre start count down. after the inevitable freeze, i had around 7 seconds to hit go to track... made it to the line and at gate drop i immediately realize all garage settings have been diverted to default making the MXR a turd at glen helen...

i guess my suggestion would be to be able to maintain any changes to the bike during practice through all events in the session. otherwise you gots to scramble between freezes and race start to get into garage and hit that drop down menu to get back to settings that work for ya before the gate drops... smell what im steppin in?

thanks for the reply... so maybe if i uninstall all the skins i use less frequently (if at all) this could help sync times?  if and when another player is riding with a modded paint that i dont have installed, is that why the bikes appear white and no rider?

Quote from: seney8 on May 13, 2020, 05:20:49 PMI have been having connection issues since I first started playing on 13. I do not have the best computer but it works great during testing sessions as well as hosting my own server but joining rarely connects. Internet speeds are 200gb+ so no issues there I'd assume. I usually only attempt to join Discord or MyMXB servers and can occasionally join the 2t Club discord server or maybe TNMX mx1-2 2t MyMXB server but that's about it. I'm probably at a 20% connection rate when attempting to join a server.

Is there some sort of time out feature if the sync takes too long? When joining, it seems to be attempting during the syncing screen with my curser frozen but after a few minutes my curser frees up and I can audibly hear my computer fans slow down as they are not being asked to continue working on a process. At this point I'm able to click cancel and go back to the server menu. If I attempt the same server again sometimes I'm able to get in but that's pretty rare.

I love this game and the community but not being able to play online with others is a bummer. :(

Ey Teeds... So I didn't get much chance to go online to see if I could join user servers while at home on MY router/wifi (I rode IRL a bit and planted a garden mostly lol) but I'm back at work and in my downtime, I try to race...

Anyways, I'm at a different hotel with different wifi.  Here, when trying to connect to user servers,  instead of a "connection timed out" message the it connects then the cursor freezes for about 45 seconds to a minute then the fans slow and cursor is free'd up like ole seney up there is mentioning in the b14d thread... all while giving the unending "syncing" message.

What gives? Is there anything I can do within my lappy's settings that can "make sure that port is open fer meh" or what?  I mean, I see 24 dudes in a lobby I cant join in on right now and it's uber frustrating!

connectivity issues are becoming increasingly frustrating... not only the "freeze" issue, but i cant even connect at all to a user created server (although this may be an wifi issue as determined in a separate post)  however, i get the endless syncing... message when even trying to connect to discord servers while equipped with a 2 stroke but am able to connect while equipped with a 4 stroke.  i just wanna BRAAAP and its becoming harder and harder to do so!

agree with all above: the freeze sucks. nothing like being on a heater and randomly freezes for 8 seconds!  piboso, is there anything we can do on our end to help identify and remedy the issue? what data do you need on it? if the freeze and ungodly sync times were fixed this would be an epicly perfect mx game!

This mx game is the Tits McGhee of all mx games! i freakin love it... physics are getting better, bikes and liveries are immaculate, tracks are lit... Now, if we could only get online to sync 100% of the time and not have the ungodly 10 second lag (sometimes) when someone connects/disconnects...
