Remember that you may only post your lap time once, so even if you do better after initially posting, your result will not be changed. At the same time, do not leave posting your lap time till the last minute as no posts will be counted after the deadline. I know i'll be posting my lap time a day or two early just to be safe.

A discord has been set up (A big Thank You to PhiliaN) in order for players to talk about their times during the week without having to post their final results here.

Standings

Red indicates the winner of the round
Purple indicates that the person did not compete in that round resulting in the same points as Last + 2

Results will be posted shortly after the cut off time. Depending on the amount of applicants the timing of this could vary from week to week.

Thank you to anyone who enters and competes, this will only be a success through community involvement. So tell any friends who also play MX Bikes and get the word out about the series.

If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to PM me.

Good luck and may the fastest rider win!

Just had the thought of how cool it would be to have the option to turn on a trainer online. You could either follow your fastest lap, certain peoples fastest lap, or the fastest lap set on the server so far. I don't know how easy this would be to achieve but it was an idea. This would only work for open practice sessions.

General Discussion / Fast Lap Challenge Series 2

Fast Lap Challenge Series 2

What is the Fast Lap Challenge 2?

The fast lap challenge 2 is a 6 round series in the game of MX Bikes over 6 weeks using 6 different custom tracks. Each track will be scored separately with an overall standings being tallied after each round with the competitor with the fastest lap time winning each round.

Competition Details

Dates

Competition starts on Monday, the 18th of June 2018 at 12:00am MX-Bikes Forum Time (UTC +0)

Each round Lasts Exactly a Week. The rounds go as follows:

1)   Round 1 – Thursday Night Motocross– 18/6/18 12:00am until 24/6/18 11:59pm
2)   Round 2 – Paleta Raceway v2 – 25/6/18 12:00am until 1/7/18 11:59pm
3)   Round 3 – Archview MX – 2/7/18 12:00am until 8/7/18 11:59pm
4)   Round 4 – Florida Track & Trails – 9/7/18 12:00am until 15/7/18 11:59pm
5)   Round 5 – MXBC Compound (V1.3) – 16/7/18 12:00am until 22/7/18 11:59pm
6)   Round 6 – JS7 National Loop – 23/7/18 12:00am until 29/7/18 11:59pm

How To Enter

Entry is Free, to Enter a round of the Fast Lap Challenge 2, simply log in to the MX Bikes Forum and post 2 screenshots of your lap time from the game in the correct forum page of that round. The First Screenshot needs to be taken in Pit; Laps tab like so:

The second Screenshot needs to be taken of the exported lap time file. In the screenshot above, you can see the Export button below the Ideal Lap Time. Once exported, you can find the file in your 'my documents' folder; PiBoSo/MX Bikes/exports. Open in the file in your internet browser and take a screenshot of the results.

Both the lap times in the screenshots must line up correctly. Please see the cheating section of this document to see what are the consequences of manipulating a lap time.
You may only post one lap time each round. If any competitor posts multiple lap times, only the first lap time will be taken while the others will be discarded.
Any lap time posted after the round has finished will not count.

Scoring

Once a round has been completed, each competitors lap time will be documented and scored using the Olympic Style of Scoring. For example, the best lap time will score 1 Point, while the 15th best lap time will score 15 points.
If a competitor does not compete in a round, they will be given the score of last place + 2 for that round.
In the case of two or more competitors posting times that are exactly the same, they will be given equal points and the next competitor will be given points equal to the amount of people they are behind the leader. For example:
4th – 1:07:098 – 4 points
5th – 1:07:122 – 5 Points
5th – 1:07:122 – 5 points
7th – 1:07:144 – 7 points

Cheating/Manufacturing a Lap Time

There is absolutely no tolerance to cheating. If you are caught manufacturing a lap time, you will be immediately disqualified from the series and be striped of all points earned in previous rounds. You may also be suspended from possible future competitions.

So with a way to compete with each other using the FLCS, we are able to somewhat establish a ranking between each player or at least between the players who compete in the series. The best way to rank those who compete is through their number. So Piggy-backing from NorCal 986 and his Number Quest, I wanted to start a number ranking until MX Bikes has competitive races that can be used to determine numbers. This system may be ditched when competitive racing starts in MX Bikes, but at the same time, it may also be used to help kick start the numbering when the racing does start.

Introducing a New Numbering System using the FLCS until competitive MXB Racing is Established:

1) The Overall Leading Points scorer from all the FLCS series from the year will be given the opportunity to select a single digit number which they can keep and hold until they relinquish the number (see section 5)
2) The top 5 points scorers from the year will be able to select a permanent Two Digit Number which they can keep and hold until they relinquish the number (see section 5)
3) Competitors outside of the Top 5 will be given numbers from 10 to 99 (Career numbers will be unavailable) which will be allocated to the riders with the lowest number available given to 6th in points and then following from there. They will keep this number for the year and will either earn a new number the next year or return to a three digit number.
4) In a FLCS in which there are 20 or more competitors, the winner of that series will also be given the chance to choose a Two Digit Career Number as a reward for winning a competitive series. They will keep and hold this number until they relinquish it (see section 5).
5) A competitor will relinquish their number when they do not compete in at least 5 rounds throughout a year.
6) If two competitors share equal points, the lower number will be given to the competitor who scored the best overall finish in a series. If this is also tied then it will go to the second best placing and so on.
7) A competitor who is given the number 13, may choose to skip the number 13 (like in real life Supercross/Motocross, as some riders believe the number to be unlucky/cursed), in which that year, the number will be not be used.

So with those basic rules laid down, I've gone through the original forum and have people's three digit numbers here below. I've also added the numbers used by other people in the game. If people posted a two digit number then I will not include it below and they are more then welcome to post a three digit number below which I can add to the list. If two people have posted the same number then I will let them decide who gets that number between them and they can choose to settle it however they want. If you would like to add a number that is not already taken below, then post it below.

General Discussion / Changes for the FLCS2
March 28, 2018, 03:48:21 PM

So with Beta 8 looking like it's just around the corner, I though I would release changes to the series for FLCS2. If you also have any ideas that may help the series, please let me know below. If you believe that some of the changes that I am planning on making are wrong, I am happy to hear you out below as well, I am more than happy to make changes if they majority believe they will help. So here goes:

1) The Day in which a round will begin and end will also be changing. Instead of 00:00 MX-Bikes Forum Time (UTC + 0) on a Sunday, the day will Change to a Monday. This is to stop the time of the round ending to stop coinciding with the Supercross/Motocross happening at that exact time in America. It was found that accidently having these times concurring with the American Series hindered the amount of people who would and could post a time. Changing the Day to a Sunday, still gives people the chance to post a time while not interfering with popular events.

2) A rider who does not set a time in a round will receive the points of Last + 2, instead of Last + 1. This is to encourage a player to set a time even if they may not be as competitive during that round. I believe that this change will encourage players to set a time to stay competitive in the overall series even though they may struggle in a certain round.

I would be very happy to expand on these changes if anybody has any ideas to add. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you all set a time.

P.S. Who likes the new logo?

General Discussion / Fast Lap Challenge Series 2 Tracks
February 18, 2018, 11:45:59 AM
So while there are still 3 rounds to go of FLCS1, I'm starting to plan Series 2. i've set up this poll to see what people would like to race for season 2. I would like for series 2 to be either a Supercross series or a custom track series. Other series I plan on running in the future are USA National Tracks, MXGP Tracks,  A mud Series and more.

Other things that I am thinking of changing are the cut off dates between rounds. I've been thinking of changing this to mid week maybe? Or maybe even on a Sunday night (MX Bikes time), rather than Saturday.

If anybody else has any suggestions or would like to discuss something above, more than welcome to bring them up here so we can discuss them :)

General Discussion / New Team: Umpossible Racing
February 12, 2018, 01:30:32 PM
Introducing the newest team in MX Bikes: Umpossible Racing

So I've decided to start a team. I'm hoping for this team to comprise of 4-5 players. The team will be used to share set ups, lap times and also use the 'trainer' feature with each other. I've also created some gear lines specifically for the team, which a team member can use if they like them. The goal of the team is to better each other and also have fun learning the game as it grows. At this point, I'm undecided if the team will become a race team when online is up and running and a racing series is set up, I will decide if I want to expand to a race team when the time comes.

If you're interested in joining the team, you can reply here or send me a PM through the forums

At the same time, do not leave posting your lap time till the last minute as no posts will be counted after the deadline. I know i'll be posting my lap time a day or two early just to be safe.

A discord has been set up (A big Thank You to PhilliaN) in order for players to talk about their times during the week without having to post their final results here.

General Discussion / What bike do you prefer?
February 05, 2018, 10:05:17 AM
I ride 250Fs in the game but I can't decide between the KX and YZ. I find I'm faster on the YZ but I tend to crash a lot while riding it and can only get a clean lap once every 10 laps while riding. With the KX, my lap times tend to be 3-4 seconds a lap slower, but I only crash once or twice every 10 laps.

Just wondering everybody else's opinions and wondering what bikes they run or different characteristics they've noticed about different bikes? Or do people just run their favorite bikes in real life and adapt to the different style?
