Oh I bet another day of practice you would of had that lap time lower  ;) Im enjoying this, thanks again for this event.

Oh yeah, for some reason I just don't click with Washington, I really struggle on the downhill corner and then the S.

Thank you, I'm enjoying running it. Got some ideas with future series as well, so hopefully the series will become a regular event until we get online sorted, and I may even run these after if people want them to continue.

Posting a 2:14.726, I played for a solid hour and only managed a 2:17 then exported the time but forgot to screenshot the testing page. So I told myself to just set a time under 2:20 and I'll post it, somehow managed a 2:14, my fastest ever. No idea how I did it but I'm glad I forgot to screenshot the original now lol

Also, It's great to see more people posting times! Thanks guys!

General Discussion / What bike do you prefer?
February 05, 2018, 10:05:17 AM
I ride 250Fs in the game but I can't decide between the KX and YZ. I find I'm faster on the YZ but I tend to crash a lot while riding it and can only get a clean lap once every 10 laps while riding. With the KX, my lap times tend to be 3-4 seconds a lap slower, but I only crash once or twice every 10 laps.

Just wondering everybody else's opinions and wondering what bikes they run or different characteristics they've noticed about different bikes? Or do people just run their favorite bikes in real life and adapt to the different style?

Welcome to the Third Round of the Fast Lap Challenge Series!

This round will be held at Washington. This page is where you post both screenshots to record your lap time. The round will open at 12:00am Sunday the 4th of February 2018 MX Bikes time (UTC + 0) and will close at 11:59pm Saturday the 10th of February 2018. No lap times will be counted outside of these times.

Any bike will be accepted however depending on the amount of competitors, the series may be split into two classes.

To find the rules and how to enter the competition click this link for more information:

http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=2086.msg30454#msg30454

Remember that you may only post your lap time once, so even if you do better after initially posting, your result will not be changed. At the same time, do not leave posting your lap time till the last minute as no posts will be counted after the deadline. I know i'll be posting my lap time a day or two early just to be safe.

A discord has been set up (A big Thank You to PhilliaN) in order for players to talk about their times during the week without having to post their final results here.

https://discord.gg/DS5wc96

Standings

1st - Twitch135 - 3 Points
2nd - Jjok_17 - 4 Points
3rd Umpossible - 5 Points

Results will be posted shortly after the cut off time. Depending on the amount of applicants the timing of this could vary from week to week.

Thank you to anyone who enters and competes, this will only be a success through community involvement. So tell any friends who also play MX Bikes and get the word out about the series.

Good luck and may the fastest rider win!

Why not much SX tracks in your series? It's SX season.

SX can be quite difficult, so I didn't want to start with the hardest tracks. I was planning on doing a SX only series for the next series. Ive got some ideas for future series as well, so the FLCS won't just be a one time thing.

...as we all await news of a vastly improved online experience.

The whole point of this competition was to keep the community going while we still wait for online lol

Well only two competitors in the first week makes it pretty easy lol

Results:

1st - 1:56.580 - Twitch135 - 1 Point
2nd - 1:57.435 - Umpossible - 2 Points

Bit disappointed with the numbers as there was only one other competitor, but looking on the bright side, anybody who missed the first week will start on 3 points, which is basicaly nothing compared to supercross scoring lol

Hopefully Beta8 will solve the most obvious problems.

Is there a rough estimate on when Beta 8 will be released?

General Discussion / Re: =How to Whip Tutorial Needed=
January 24, 2018, 04:51:35 PM
While I can't do a video with a tutorial, Whenever I want to throw a big whip, I'll either do one of two things:

1) lean my rider completely forward on the take off and then at the same time throwing the bike either left or right (not lean but turn). This is more of a scrub kind of whip. Only problem with this one, is that sometimes you might go over the bars (depends on the take off). I recommend holding the throttle at full rev the entire jump lol.

2) on the take off, throw the bike and rider lean in opposite directions (a lot like the MXGP games)

I've noticed that if you sit down while doing these whips, then you'll do an awesome Justin Bogle style one footed whip!

You can see a screenshot of my whip using technique number one above here: http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=2094.0

I'm sure others have better techniques, but I thought it'd share mine.

General Discussion / Re: Daily Development Log
January 24, 2018, 04:06:47 PM
I can only speak from my point of view here, but I don't believe this game is dead. I feel like this game is drowning. Now if I remember correctly from a high school first aid course I had to take, if a person is drowning, you've got 4 minutes to regain their consciousness before brain damage becomes a problem. I believe, if we don't revive the game now, then yeah, it'll die. But I think the game can be revived.

Anybody can revive the game, whether it's posting your set up for the newer players or adding a skin or a track or even just a lap time in the FLCS. Anything could be the spark that inspires them to make their own and also contribute.

To be fair, ive only been playing the game since August 2017 and I only joined the forums this year, so I'm still excited by the game, I guess you could say I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I haven't been around since the start, so I'm not yet sick of the waiting around for new updates or the complete lack of online play. I'm still content to run laps just trying to go faster and not crash or trying to make a new skin. And yes these parts can be unmotivating to try and get into the game, sure. But this game to me could be pretty awesome. Sure the physics need work, but I've found that I'm now completely used to them and prefer them (I opened up mx sim last night and quit after 3 laps because everything felt too stiff). And the amazing graphics displayed in the game opens up a avenue of amazing skins, tracks and bike models.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is understand why you guys are over it but all it takes is a few people to really give this game a chance. It has the potential to be really successful with an entire community dedicated to it. And sure, over the next few months/years my own willingness to try and help revive the game might wane and come back, but while this game is still around and there are people still coming to this forum to read new updates or download new creations and there are people willing to dedicate time and effort to make them, then I think that this game can still hold its head above water and slowly learn to swim.
