Hey,

It seems as though you can run as many laps as you like on a track with no problem, but the moment you enter replay mode some strange artifacts / things happen to track textures. Might not be noticeable on some tracks but when adding things to a mask that are roughly 1px thin like digger tracks, it's very noticeable. Elsewhere on the track like normal ruts, small squarish chunks can be seen after entering replay mode.

After this, going back to ride the textures remain affected. Tried using 'Reset Track' with no luck, only way to get the textures back to normal is to reload the track completely.

Not sure about stock background.edf on something like Practice Track or Maryland, but custom ones such as on MXB Compound, Paleta and a new one I've just made for Paleta V2 they are not showing up and instead you just get black under the horizon line.

Just letting you guys know that the 250x category, 450sm category and the helmet model category are now all live. The 250x and the helmet model category both have a submission, but the 450sm doesn't (in case anyone is wondering why it's not showing in the list on the bike skins page). I was in two minds whether to make a 450sm category as I think it uses the same template, but I think in the long run it will be used.

Bike model category has been live for a while (and is still unused, c'mon guys!  ;D)..

The site has seen some great use since the launch of B4, look forward to see that building.

Hey all, would be nice to see a few more riders online wearing something custom with their name and number, or even just some generic gear / bike skin. If people want to post their most frequently used stuff in a zip here I'll move each link to this first post and keep a (semi) organised list. This way we can download each others stuff and have some more variety online. And if it gets popular maybe this post could be stickied.

Please make sure your zip's are understandable. You don't have to, but for example I've put the folder structure in mine so you can just extract it to your MXB directory.

Hey PiBoSo,

I remember seeing that you'd added support for self-emmision lighting..

Being one of the features I was very excited about I'm keen to have a play. Did it make it into Beta 4?

Can you provide some documentation on how to go about this?

Track features a national loop with a 25 man gate and an SX track. Unfortunately the SX track doesn't work too well in Beta 4 but we'll see about either learning it better or V2 will come with an adjusted version. It's also a bit of a visual resources hog, so you may need to lower your graphics settings slightly to get things smooth.

The national loop difficulty is hard. Recommend using the 350xf or you will find with the loss of traction out of corners some of the jumps will be super hard to clear (this goes for both the 250 and the 450). Other than that, the track has one flagman, no replay cams (it is only v1.. If anyone wants to make some cams feel free).. But it does have full race date and is also registered for stats.

Not sure it's something I could replicate or explain, but I've loaded MXB up this morning and none of my controls work.

Not just controller but keyboard, can't even press ESC in game to bring the menu up. Have to open task manager to close MXB.

Strangely, if I reload game and go to input settings my controller doesn't show the movements even though its calibrated. When I calibrate it, it works. But the keyboard still doesn't..

Any ideas?   ??? :-\

Hey hey,

So I'm in a practice online and it resets, when everyone leaves the pits my game crashed. So, I relaunched and changed my gear and bike skin, when I got in game I had my old gear and bike selection. I then got about 3 crashes in a row online but 4th time lucky. Still shows up as having my old gear though.

This one might sound a little odd.

Is there any way to attach another object (edf) to the helmet? Possibly by adding my second object in the helmet folder and adding it in to the .cfg or the .hrc? I tried various ways of adding my second .edf to a duplicate of the helmet folder from the pkz but I couldn't get it to show up.

I have managed to get a new helmet working in game although it's just a sphere currently.

PiBoSo, is it possible to change the menu environment? By this I mean currently it's black with a lit area under the bike / rider. Is it possible to replace this with another environment like scenery.edf does for a track or background.edf does?

Hey hey,

Full range of 2016 Alpinestars Tech7's. Took a while to make these! They have new normal and reflection maps and really feel like a different boot model. It's probably the only and last time I'll make boots, didn't really enjoy it much but glad they turned out well. They are not perfect, there are slight differences from the originals but probably not noticeable and definitely good enough to enjoy!

I made them using the Alpinestars website as a reference, Google shows some of these but slightly different so I can only guess they were older models. Check http://www.alpinestars.com/tech-7-boot-2#.VqJQYFmnyUk for a reference.

Hey Hey! Merry Christmas all!

Had a couple of hours free earlier so bashed together a quick freeride track for fun. Seen talk of freeride and snow recently so put the two together in the holiday themed Winter Wonderland.

This track is only meant for fun, for local play. 1000 x 1000 map. There's plenty of jumps to hit, plenty of hills to carve up and lines to find. Surface is sand (no snow surface available) very slippy, and tried to make the deformation happen deep as quick as possible to give you those big snowy ruts. Enjoy!

Bikes / Exhaust Smoke

Hey again..

I understand how to add exhaust smoke as I've added it for the 250, but how do you control it?

The bike I'm trying to add it on has: IdleRPM = 2300..

Does this mean I set top_rpm to 2300? I figured top_rpm was the peak of the exhaust smoke and max_rpm was the cutoff.. Perhaps you could explain what the values do if I'm wrong because I'm not seeing anything at 2300, more like 3000 - 4000..

Hey hey..

So I'm having a go at making some sounds, and I'm having trouble (surprise surprise)..

I've got my idle working great, and I've got my first layer working great (throttle open?)

My second layer seems to be fine too (throttle closed?) but for some reason when I accelerate I get both layers at the same time.

This sounds odd.. Any ideas? I can post SCL if needed.

Not that I can guarantee this without PiBoSo's confirmation, but setting it to 0 appears to completely disable deformation.

Perfect for testing, so you can make sure a track is completely rideable before deformation is involved.

I know at least a couple of people here use SketchUp..

I learned projected textures recently to get a texture on to my heightmap model so I knew where the track edges were, and while I was at it I figured out something else.

Years ago back on MCM2, my brother wrote me a program which converted a silhouette (profile) of a jump into a heightmap image. I shared it among the community and wish I still had it, it was simply called heightmap.exe and the only reference I can find to it now is http://www.oocities.org/eid_arty/mapmake.html (the bit in the middle with the silhouette and result). Seriously if anyone has a copy please link me up!

Anyway on to the point, I had a brainwave that a projected texture should be able to work the same and hey it does!

If anyone wants more info please ask and I'll put a proper tutorial together, but for now here's a preview of how it works. If not I'm sure this thread will drift off into the oblivion of the next page and be forgotten forever. Still no harm in sharing  ;)

Track Editing / scenery size?

Hey hey,

Is there a limit to the size of a scenery file? Just generated one with fbx2edf which is 70,620kb and it's crashing map.bat.

Before that, it was working fine, I added more trees and fbx2edf crashed, so I removed a few, fbx2edf runs but it's now crashing map.bat.. Didn't want to remove any more lol.

Any insight would be great! Thanks.
