I have experienced something similar when running tracks with deformation on at "an advanced stage", around 30+ laps in. If you notice it crashes more often on tracks with heavy deformation, you need to reset the track in the pits (and give it a minute or two, then exit the track and restart it to make sure it "sticks").

Other than the wierd random error, it has been pretty stable when offline here.

Thanks for the update.

I do not know how you build the code for track "building", but wouldn't it be possible to disable deformation by simply not stating a thickness value? This would end up making stuff very flexible. More materials are always welcome of course ;)

Question of the day.

Is it possible to build the .THT file so that some material layers have deformation enabled and other not?

For example, in an SX track, I would like a 0.01 thickness layer with deformation on top of a non-deformable base. if I do not include a thickness parameter for the base, it still seems to have deformation enabled.

(I want to enable it to have visual changes but no almost no riding changes in select parts of a track).

Well i think it boils down toa few things. Some player related, some games related.

The games is still in beta and has zero advertisement from the debs, but also close to zero visibility on twitch and YouTube. We have no race replay, no live steam, no hot laps highlights. The word is simply not spreading.

Then there are some games issues, netcode being the major culprit (included warps, core.exe, no collision and deformation because of stability issues). I personally hate online play with no collision.

And then, if someone is motivated enough to try and go though this to play online, he 99% of the time will fail to find a suitable server. We need in order of priority:
- complete display of the server list, with the servers running tracks you do not have displayed but in red, with the possibility for the host to add a link to DL the track;
- same in orange for bikes, and black when you miss bikes and tracks
- track rotation being displayed for each server
- mouse over the server to have a list of people playing by name, possibility for friend list and filters.

Those are todays basics.

I'm currently experimenting with a rather complex track (5 material layers, 10 texture layers, 4097 heightmap and 2049 texture masks). My PC can handle it fine but it makes the game crash more frequently than usual. It appears to be linked to deformation (I have run more than 20 laps with the deformation on.). I am crashing often when trying to trigger the replay, and when reseting the track deformation in game I have to wait a lot (several minutes) for it to do anything. Once I get a fresh track and go, I crash half a lap in.

Is there any bug report generated I should send?

- Edit: it's not even a crash with an error message, it is straight out kicking me out of the game. Also, when I go back in after a "failed" track reset attempt, the track is back to its rutted version.

- Edit 2: "fixed" by hitting track reset, going for a walk, then going back to menus to reload the track.

Paints / CRF HRC 2015

Well, since I recently fell in love with the behaviour of the CRF 250 (but not so much with the looks, as usual with Honda for me) and I saw this:



Well, I made this:



It's 90% accurate, I had a good model to do it in form of a sticker kit. It is the 2015 HRC paint, which I find much nicer than the 2016.

The folder also contains my skin (Asdrael #15) and TheFatControler skin (#1, tha winnaaarr).

Does anyone have the template for this? Opening the bike folder using PaintEd only has the wheels, not the bike here.

It's becoming my favorite bike after a long time setting it up and I'd like to make my skin for it. I don't want to use Paco's base because hey, it's his.

Can you do the "normal" bike without - stock style, and a skin with? Or do you require 2 actual bikes and can't add 3D parts inside of a skin?

I fixed it by renaming a texture. I have no idea why. ("dirtwet" to "wetdirt" and no there was no _ involved).

I have an issue.

I'm trying to build a rather complicated HMF file with around 10 layers. I have tried every single one independantly, they work. I have built various size (and above 10), they work.

Now, in that particular file, and that particular case, when I add my 9th layer (whatever it is, even a copy from another one already in), it compiles the .map, I can see it, I can compile the tht, I can open and merge the tcl in TrackEd. But it crashes the game. I have done it 10 times, there is no typo, and the incrementation is good. I have tried moving stuff in and out, same issue adding the 9th layer.

Might have been posted already but I "recently" noticed and began suffering from a bike behaviour issue.

It appears the forces trying to bring the bike back up is linked to the slope on which the bike stands. The bike will naturally straighten up after a turn until it's orthogonal to the riding surface, but you have to force it back up after that. This is very noticeable when you build a track with a long rut that extends in the straight - the bike will try to go straight forward but not try to straighten up ; also very noticeable when you have a right hander with a rut into a left hander with a rut. It makes S turns with ruts very difficult to do.
