Suggestions and wishlist / Track textures
June 23, 2014, 07:42:16 PM
I've two suggestion which will probably help us track makers to make better looking tracks.
The first one is the transfer between two textures. I'm not 100% sure if this has been suggested on this forum before, but I know it has been on the Mx Simulator forums. I also don't know if it's posible with a brush on 100% sharpness in PS (I guess it isn't, I wish I had time to check it)
When making textures with alpha channels, all the textures blend over eachother. If you want to have a rocky texture next to you track, you'll probably get an effect like this: Image from MX181

This looks kinda weird and IMO should be different.

The second suggestion is random rotation for tiled textures. When you made your awesome texture and put it ingame, it sometimes looks weird because the game tiles the texture and sometimes you can see exactly how it tiled. I guess random rotation on every tile will fix this problem, but I'm not sure how that will look. I know it can be fixed pretty easy at the moment by adding an overlay image, but I guess that 'new track creators' don't know how to make a good overlay image, and so their track will look very strange when everything is tiled the same way.

I'm not sure how well I explained it, and my English kinda sucks atm because I'm kinda tired.

That has all been answered already. It's more like Mx Simulator.

The game isn´t released yet. The progress is on hold because of problems with the physics. They´ll fix it as soon as they can.

I just saw the E3 Mx vs ATV Supercross livestream. That game looks very disappointing in my opinion.

Hey PiBoSo, someone mentioned that there would be assists. Would we be able to turn these off for a more competitive and realistic experience? I'm trying to get a feel for the level of realism and difficulty you are going for. I'm sure it wont be as hard as MX Sim, because MX sim is hard only for the sake of being hard. If this has been answered don't worry about it then. :P
You should check out the free demo of GP-bikes, that'll explain a lot for you.

Tracks are looking good but how can you make a track without feeling how the game performs in the first place. Like how do you know that you have positioned your jumps im a suitable place for the rider to be able to clear it and stuff like that?
I made all the jumps in PS with seperate layers, I can easily change the height, steepness and space so I don't think it'll be a major problem for me.

I've had the game since December 2009 or 2010, I guess 2010. You should actually not play around with your setup the whole time, just use the stability slider and start from like 25, go lower, if you're getting worse, try a higher number, if you get worse, go back to 25, if you get better, keep it on the higher or lower number.

I won't share my setup because IMO people should use someone else's advanced setup, I've done a few time too, but it always turned out wrong. You just need to play all different kind of tracks, gets used to the physics and be able to ride clean laps. If you're clean for 15 laps you can try getting a little faster.

Yes, I use a xbox360 controller, and I don't change anything in the config file.

Hey my name is Joe Im 22 and from Canada. I just started following MXB but am supper excited! I've been playing MX Simulator since 2007 so I am looking forward to a new game! I also run mxsimpits.net a website related to MX Simualtors. I've added a section for MXB! Super pumped!
Great to see you here, you've been one of the nicest guys in MXSIM from what I know.

So its mxsimpits.net? I thought it was down for 100000 years, I did .com tho. I'm so stupid ::).

Hey man thanks! I remember your name from around the forums! It used to be .com and it was down for 1000 years but I wanted to bring it back. Turns out someone bought the .com :( So now its .net haha. Im really excited for MXB so I've added a section and am working on a downloads section too so we can host all the tracks/gear that is made :)

Yes, I'm Sandhapper from the forums, I guess it's time for me to explain who I actually am now.
Ah that sucks, it isn't a big problem it's .net now , even though not many people know it I guess. 22Ryan (member of this forum) is also working on a good looking 'mod download page', you can find it in the off topic section, Got some time off.

My name is Ruben Kuilder, also known as Sandbiter, Sandhapper and RSKDIGIART. I'm 16 years old and have been hosting a lot of races in Mx Simulator. With the help of Frederik we started the main European series, when Frederik stopped hosting me and Yohann went futher. I stopped around the 12th race from the SX series because the Mx Simulator community pissed me off too much. When I had to study I actually hosted races for them and probably missed some points on my tests. Everyone blames about how we didn't follow up our rules too well, but when I kicked a pro who didn't respect the rules every of his friends blamed me for the kick. That's why I stopped hosting and didn't want to put my time into it anymore. I'll try to host events for MX-Bikes, but if I don't like it, or if the community pisses me off again I'll stop immediately.

I've been modeling/texturing/designing a lot of things too, I lost some stuff because of computer crashes. I'm currently working on a project for a friend of mine, and I want to finish up my CRF250 06-09 and put it in Mx Simulator and Mx-Bikes. You can find my stuff on: https://www.facebook.com/rkdigitalart
I haven't posted any updates recently because I've been busy with school and driving lessons. I'm also working on that project for my friend and I don't want anyone to know it who shouldn't know it.

I just want a game that is realistic and true to motocross ..I dont want a game that's hard just for the sake of being hard because its a sim .. Its not hard to just ride around on a dirt bike  ...3 year olds can do it ...being fast is where the difficult factor comes in...

Agree 100%! I want a game where I can pick up and have fun but if you want to be fast you need to practice! that's the only thing I dislike about MXS. You need to play all the time just to be good enough to ride around haha

Not 100% true. I'm playing mxsim maybe once a week, 30 minutes, and still get 2nd in every championship I ride in (European ones, I'm not grazy enough to get outta my bed at 2am to ride the American events  :P).

About the starting gate etc. You can change the starting gate, pits, checkpoints, centerlines etc. just like in GPB, so I don't think that'll be a huge problem. You can even chagne the starting gate model, so you can always come up with something nice for the gates on a SM track. The only problem I see is the traction though.

But can you ride on dirt with it, that's actually the most exciting part of supermoto IMO.

A traction with lots of grip in MXB will probably be better IMO, I didn't make the games tho, so Piboso will probably know why it's better to do in GPB.

I agree. The only thing which really has to be added for this is road traction. As far as I understand Piboso has made a couple of tractions which track makers can't edit.
A wheel model is easily made, so that wouldn't be a problem.

Does anyone play Arma 3? I would love if someone could play Breaking point together with me, it's such a fun addon but it'll be lots funnier with more people while talking on TS.
I was just playing Breaking Point  ;D
Nice, do you mind adding me on steam? Then we can play together sometime.

Battlefield 3 is free on origin this week, I bought it with humble bundle awhile back, but I'm sure some of you still want it.
