I think the important thing I've learned is riding with the least amount of assists provides the most enjoyment.

Care to share your settings?

Thanks.

I know your frustration - but remember that this is a simulator, and one that isn't even complete. That makes MX Bikes a really hard game, and most people not interested in racing wouldn't find this fun at all. As mentioned above, MX Bikes is gonna take a while to learn, and you should expect to put a good deal of hours into before you can "master" it. If you want, I can see if I can put together a video of a whip, explaining what to do. My whips are kind of hit and miss though.

Anyways, good luck :)

Yeah I did, from the paints section. I tried doing some clothing but I find it so much harder than doing a bike. I could not for the life of me, get things to match when drawing on different parts such as the sleeve and the back.

I guess the title says everything, but allow me to explain a little bit.

I am gonna take a chance here and say most of us are playing MX-Bikes with a controller, however the menus only respond to keyboard input.
I think it would make sense if you could navigate the entire game only using your controller. The way it is right now, we have to alternate between
keyboard and controller all the time.

I hope this makes sense :)

Have a nice Sunday.

Nice whips. But the question is: Can we eliminate the theory that you can't whip in MXB?

Can we officially call these whips? If so, all it takes is practice I guess.

This is not to show off in any way, some of you can probably do it better, but I see a lot of people asking about how to whip, and people responding that you can't.
If these are whips, then I guess you can.

Thank you.

Thanks a lot! It's very encouraging. Do you think it's something people would use? I have some designs laying around that I am considering releasing, but I don't know if the quality is to poor. As I've said. I am very new :)

General Discussion / MX Bikes on Linux
October 10, 2014, 10:00:18 PM
Hey Guys.

Just thought I would like to share with you that MX Bikes works perfectly in linux. I am playing it as I write this.
I used PlayOnLinux and Wine. If anybody wants to I can put together a guide, but it's really a walk in the park.

(Can't upload a screenshot since I am using elementaryOS Freya (Beta), and there's a bug with taking screenshots)

Thank you.

I spent most day skinning I'm learning a ton of things!

I spent some time on some riding gear, as you see. But what do you think of the bike so far?

(Ignore the orange tank, was supposed to be black)
