So, maybe we can work together on this track?

I've done the Base Heightmap, Folder Setup and a Trackpath. So you can copy the folder "Hangtown" in your track folder, to see how it looks.

If you are working on the track, let us know, just write it in the comments.

 - working on a new trackpath (2015) in Gimp 2.8 (free)

done

- updated all files
- deleted the .psd Projectfile
- Updated the Downloadlink

Todo: Update the Race Data in tracked (Centerline etc., not so important atm)

Next step should be terraforming.

- working on the terraforming/bulldozing

1/4 done

- updated all files (Gimp Project must be updated with the new Hangtown_HM_TF_v001.png)
- new L3DT Terrain Folder in Projectfolder
- Heightmap updated (quick smooth)

Todo: Create a Overview of the Heightmap and name the Jumps/Berms as numbers.

Save your Jumps as Jump_Number_vXX.png into /misc/Jumps (= Jump_1_v01.png)
Save your Berms/Ruts as Berm_Number_vXX.png into /misc/Berms (= Berm_5_v01.png)

done - maybe only some small fixes/changes

- all files updated (includes Gimp Project)
- Heightmap.raw updated (includes quick smooth)

Btw. All Terraform_Project versions saved without smoothing. Same for .png's. I only use the smoothtool for the Heightmap.raw, so you can test the updates ingame.

New Download v3

Corner 16/17 is now a stair, so its easier to build the ramp for it.

- made Terraform v004 and v005
- Track is v004 - Ramp 16/17/18 and 20 are just placeholders (must be improved)

Next Step: Jumps/Berms, hope that i get some help for it :)

and correct values for l3dt and gimp (project size, bulldozer offset, opacity etc.) actually makes no sense :)

@Fats how do you smooth your tracks?
your complete track is so damn clean. your jumps have a clean edge, perfect ramps - the overall quality is just on the highest level. if i use the smooth tool (horiz. scale 0.25, vertical 30(track height))  its too aggressive.

Have you test the smooth tool? Test it with different sizes what it can do for you! I can make a twitch for you when I had free time.

I normally change the nCycles of smooth to get what I want. For example for jump faces I'll use nCycles: 5 and be patient with the gradients, making sure I go from left to right evenly. For edges I normally do nCycles: 10. Afterwards I'll use nCycles: 1 or 2 to smooth the hard edges.

1 = light smooth, 10 = heavy smooth and everything in between..
