Big Smooth one3

Hey guys. I'm very new here, so I am trying to get a feel for things. It seems like 9 out of 10 times I get into the game to play, and check out the open "world" servers, there is hardly ever anyone else playing. Is this pretty common, or am I missing something? I really, really like the fact that mxb has working multiplayer track deformation, but I rarely see anyone playing online to enjoy that feature. Have I overlooked something here?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Hey bud, Havoc here. It's really that way. The mod thing(One-Stop Sync Shop) will have to wait for me to get my 2TB drive installed. I just go online and play on the No Mod server hoping others will join. They do some of the time, like the other day when it was just me then 2 others joined. The mod thing is constantly changing, so take a look here...http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=1576.0

Hey Big.

The online play kinda flows with the updates/fixes and user created content.. this can be typical to a beta, especially one that we are "waiting" on specific fixes.

Have no fear, we have many dedicated players hanging around.

Looks like the "mod crew" is about to release some beautiful tracks, so expect some online time coming soon!

Also, keep an eye on the race or fun event posts..online play is more co-ordinated (scheduled) for the moment.

Hey man. I have had the free sync thing since the day Tizz talked me into downloading the game, so I'm all set there (I think?).

Thanks for the info. I wasn't worried at all, I know this game is still in beta stage, was more-so just curious. As far as the races go, I'm no where near the skill level where I should probably try to do those yet - I would just be another obstacle for other guys to avoid lol. But we'll see, I was in a server a week or so ago where guys were warming up for a race on Highpoint and it was awesome to see the lines everyone was taking in the terrain. Thanks again!

Edit (that's a nice forum feature): Almost forgot, I have actually figured out how to run a dedicated server of my own when I want to play, but have only ever had maybe 2 people join ever. So, if yall are ever playing and see "Big Smooth's Amateur Hour" be sure to hop in   :D

Try and get involved in the fun races Teeds has been holding weekly. Not sure if they've stopped temporarily but it's just for fun, normally a mixed bag of what you get for an event.. One week it could be 125's at Glen Helen and the next it could be 450 SX. It's just good fun.

Normally when there's a new track or bike released the servers fill up somewhat. What's nice is that each time something new comes out be it a new track, bike or beta, the servers are fuller for longer each time. See you online :)

You should join the races even if you aren't fast.

Just race for fun and community.

Trust me, I am not fast and don't expect to win (ever).. some of these guys (stonerider) are just too fast for me to really be "competitive"..

So, join the races and give me someone to race against haha

My concern wouldn't be my ability to win or compete - just that I don't want to get in anyone's way lol.

That said, I will probably hop in next time I see one going. Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated.

One more noob question...

I have tried to join a server and get the "missing bikes" error. As I mentioned, all of the syncback folders are updated before I try to join, and I don't have problems unless it's a "one-off" server that I notice is running at some random time. Obviously I'm missing a bike file, but here's my frustration - is there any way to figure out the damn bike I'm missing? I have no problem with doing a bit of searching on here to find the bike and download it so I am able to join and play with others, but I have no clue how to figure out what bike I'm missing. It doesn't seem like it should be this hard....so again, what am I missing?

PizzaChet

Going on to No Mods server now. Next week, new drive.
