L3DT - Mesh.3ds error? never happened before

strange.. this is after a fresh OS install, re-download and tried to export .3ds

anyone?

I think your max error is too low. I can normally only go down to 0.25 or maybe more with .3ds.

You can try exporting as .obj, it's what I normally do as it allows a tiny max error so you can export high quality geometry. You can definitely use .obj's in Blender but I don't know about sKetchup.

If you have to use .3ds, increase the max error.

Edit: At least I think that's what's happening.. I seen to remember a warning more specific to max error. Give it a try.

I've tried both extreme's with my max error (hi/low)and nothing works.. it does export as .obj just fine but I am trying to use sketch-up and it doesn't import.. not sure I want to buy the importer.

Hmm.. If it has to be 3ds, you might be best asking Bundysoft. I think they have a forum, or at least an email.. I've never had that problem before sorry.

One other thing you could try is registering for the pro version trial. It only takes a minute to get a key and a download, just google l3dt pro trial and put your email in.

The dev said the 64bit version doesn't support .3ds export yet..


guess I can switch over the 32bit..
