Xbox one controller problems

Hellow everyone, I'm pretty new to the game. But since to day I have a major problem.. When I try to put in my binds to my controller.. Advantaged when I use left right on my controller it says in the game that it is q & s.. And my triggers won't work.. First I thought the problem maybe came from steam big picture.. But I'm not sure how to turn it off.. (sorry for my bad English) and yeah I recently start planning pc so I'm also a noob

could it be as simple as unplugging and plugging the controller back in?
i had a similar issue when i first started playing, calibrating my controller fixed it for me -
