knowing if people are in a server

Hey everyone just got the game after playing mx sim for the past 8 or so years and love it!
My question is is there a way to tell if a server has players in it? when ever i join one it is empty i thought there for sure would be more people playing or i just keep getting empty servers

Do you know there's a column in the server browser that says Comps? That's the competitors. If you click on the these titles you can sort by name, comps etc to see the populated servers on top.

That sucks, joining a server finding out its empty 
These are beginner mistakes, just like the server has to have ping in serverbrowser, otherwise you cannot join.
