Hey guys, I'm new here to MXB :)
I need your help, while I want to learn to skin own bikes and stuff.
First of all, I downloaded the templates for bikes parts and so on.
Can you give me a brief overview about the skinning-process of a bike?
Thanks for your help :D
- open your psd in photoshop
- skin it (hard part)
- save it has a .tga file
- put the tga file in a folder and name it as the bike you'll use. (msm/yzf/rmz/crf...)
- open PaintEd (here http://www.mx-bikes.com/?page=downloads (http://www.mx-bikes.com/?page=downloads)) and open your folder, then export your .pnt file.
-put the pnt file in "programmefiles/MXBikes/Bikes/yourbike/Paints
-Ride it !

At first thank u!
1. Can I take the templates and edit them in Photoshop and add a new Layer to it with my skins?
2. Is it possible to copy graphics from Google or do I have to draw by hand because of the resolution?
lol, you can do whatever you want....! but yeah, don't just put a photo. and logos. skin it ;)
ok Ill try, thanks ;D
yeah, it's my first Project and I decided to take time and make it as nice as possible!
Hopefully there are no language problems cause I'm from Germany..
Another question:
If I want to make a skin for the new RMZ which was released by Vortex_Damien, can I take the template from piboso or do I have to take a template from this bike?

You need the template from the RMZ, it's the same with all bikes.
Sorry for the dumb question, but where do I get that from? I downloaded the bike, but there is no template :-\

That's not a dumb question your learning, just send a PM to the Bike Maker.
Thank you :)
I'm going to steal this thread since it's related and may help Felix also..
Can u guys give some advice on making a simple black fender not look pure black? Is there a trick or is a simple lighter shade selection going to help?
It depends. Often I'll use a very dark grey for black rims just to give them a bit more clarity, but sometimes when riding I think they're too grey.
Ok thx. I'll play with various shades.
