I'm having trouble with "connection timeout" when trying to join servers. Dedicated servers always work and some private work. I have tried a lot of solutions for this problem but have no luck, therefore i wonder why the game puts "---" instead of a ping number to better understand the issue
i shuold add that i have even tested datasharing internet from my phone but still no difference

Don't try to join those servers with "---", it's a waste of time. This is to prevent you from joining a server with a 999 ping. Bad for them and it should be considered bad by you too. PiBoSo has set a high number to act as a threshold to useless ping numbers(probably above 500 ping, maybe lower). Do you see the value in this?
Okey, that is understandable thank you for the awnser. However if i try to join a private server that my friend just created, (we live in the same city) the same error occurs, if i create the server he can join me just fine. and other players too
I have a similar problem where my nephew can host Share Play on PS4, but I can't. Just not a good enough connection compared to his. Make sure you have all of the port forwarding done right on this game. It has some weird ports.

That's not always the case, is it? I've joined plenty of "---" servers and from what i can remember it's been anything from 30-150ms.
I've never intentionally joined one without a ping. Most of the time I have trouble is when I seem to have tried to join one without looking at the ping first. IDK maybe I need to try it and test that theory.

Welp! Ten minutes of research proved one thing. The "---" is a warning for sure in more ways than one! 1.])} If you are getting close to a four digit ping. (I just joined one and I had an 882 ping and I saw a 1000!) 2.])} If you don't have certain content. (Guess I need to d/l Minis AND SM.) 3.])} "Connection Timeout". Good luck entering the "---" territory. Peace out.
