Title: Can't get ping on my dedicated servers
Post by: ricky452russell on March 28, 2023, 02:01:36 AM
For some reason I can't get ping on my dedicated servers to save my own life

I'm hosting it from my spare laptop, not my gaming PC

I've tried:
- forwarding several different port numbers
- disabling both ISP firewall and my laptop's firewall at the same time
- opening both an inbound and outbound port protocol on my laptop
Nothing works

Wanted to ask here before I spend the money on a new router!

You've set port 54214 in the game dedi, so where it says "Port Range From and To" you need to set them both to 54214 and forward that to your laptop.

You can probably remove those 54210 rules, they'll do nothing for you here.

I did what you said and it reverted the port range to a single port, which is what I expected, and I still didn't get ping on my server. I'm thinking the port range opens ports from 54210 to 54220 so I can open up multiple servers if I need to

Makes sense but the lower section seems to set them to a single port 54200, have I understood that correctly? The same port needs to be forwarded as is, so port 54214 traffic needs to go to your server on port 54214.
