Support / Re: License Key not allowing registration
July 05, 2019, 10:38:56 PM
I just had a realization of maybe what my issue is. I was gifted this game by another the day it released so of course at least the paypal info field isn't correct. But I still don't know why the error would get hung up on the license key before the paypal field.

So I don't know the paypal account that was used. Piboso, if you see this, is there a way around this or am I out of luck? Not sure if the person who got me the game is around anymore.

Support / License Key not allowing registration
July 05, 2019, 08:54:36 PM
Hello,

I am trying to input my license key into the registration form, however I keep getting a "invalid license key" message upon submission. I've tried making sure all my profile names were the same in everything I can find, I copied and pasted my CD key into the license key field, and made sure there were no extra spaces hidden anywhere.

Kinda at a loss at the moment, so I'd appreciate any other suggestions I can try!

Thanks!

I literally can't think of a single bug with any of Steam's functions. I understand if for whatever reason using a program to run all your games doesn't gel with you. But the UI is cleaner than a '14 YZ250  8)

Why do people never say why they don't like Steam? Every time it seems like it's just blanket statements. Do you guys who don't like it, not like it because you have to simply log in? The layout is confusing to you? What is it? Have any of you guys even used Steam in the last year or two?

I use auto log-in and haven't entered my password in probably over a year so logging in can't be troublesome. The Steam layout is super easy to navigate with buttons like STORE, LIBRARY, COMMUNITY and such hugely labeled at the top without clutter.

To someone saying they will play a game but not as much if it was on Steam kind of makes my eyes pop out a little bit. I guess I'll chalk it up to a humanities debate for another topic, as when MX181 said he likes MXS for teamspeak...Man I could go on and on about my dislikes for TS.

Anyway, we've already established that it's possible to have a game on Steam and it not affect the users who don't want to use Steam. Just gotta figure out what the rest of the community will want when it starts crowding in after the game releases.

Just basing my opinion off my own bias but, those other games that don't receive increased exposure from just being on Steam probably wouldn't be any better off if they weren't on Steam, either. There's quite a bit of terrible games on Steam, but a Motocross sim is something not everyone has seen or tried before.

I only advocate for steam so much, because I do love steam's service. I'm with Gdub too, I'm one of the sport's biggest fans and I just love seeing the sport grow in any way possible.

Admittedly there's also a handful of people who won't buy the game if it does go on steam. If only there was a workaround... :P

The point is: is there someone who would not buy a game because it is not on Steam?

The people who are oblivious that games exist beyond Steam/Origin/Desura and the likes.

To add to it, there's quite a bit of people who refuse to back a product unless there's a name associated with it. Kind of like not trusting a download link unless it's from your favorite hosting site, etc. People are weird.

I'm pretty comfortable with the thought of spending my money on their unfinished product. I'm confident I will not regret a pre-order if it were to happen. I've only ever regretted buying one game in my life.

Well basing evidence from GP bikes, it's not much different from MXS. Only difference I can see is the extra 1st person cam that mimics a person's eyes looking at apexes of corners. That will probably be in MXbikes as well.

Either way, it's useful to talk about another game's problems so this game can be sure to improve on anything that didn't work well.

Who's being penalized for their preference, really?

If I play the game better in 3rd person, then I get to enjoy being at my most comfortable and with the perks of noticing who's passing me before they even pass me and how to counteract.

If I play first person, chances are high that I might not see someone block passing me in a corner until after I've already hammered the throttle, taking us both out.

For people like me who can't play in 3rd person whatsoever, are the ones who get the short straw. If I can't see my peripherals, and you can. Why can't I see what's behind me, and you can't?

Moto was just making a "balance" suggestion, not handing out repercussions... But I don't care if this doesn't happen. I just thought it did make sense, considering it's a video game and the 1st and 3rd person options are available to begin with.

And that ^

There's like <10 people on at any time I've checked the users online. The game has to actually release first before anything drastic happens.

As said earlier i think it would be ok if you could have a 3rd person but not be able to Look back with it. Because you already have a advantage of a wider field of view and with lookback it would be more of a unfair advantage for being unrealistic. Just a idea though

I actually think that's a pretty cool, and fair idea. I've always been jealous of 3rd person riders for having that advantage. I'm a first person kind of guy for any game, I can't play 3rd person shooters, racers, anything. 1st person all the way.

Just because a thread has or doesn't have a lot of replies, doesn't necessarily mean people aren't on board with an idea. I've owned sim for almost 4 years now, and I didn't even create a forum profile for a year. In the last 3 years I've only posted about 50 times, but MXS is still my favorite game to date.

But anyway I do think it's a good idea, but it's also pretty much already assumed to be a confirmed feature from what I understand. The only thing I could possibly add is to emphasize how well done I hope it is.

Piboso, or Snappe: Are you guys doing any sort of weight transitioning on side to side leans for body weight centering around a specific leg? In other words, in real life when you are standing and turning, the weight you put on your legs are almost never exactly equal. Unless you're riding in a straight line, one leg usually has more of your body weight being supported than the other.

The problem I see, is when this occurs the rider's body is still almost straight looking. (Kind of like when you're standing on your feet and you rest one leg by putting all your weight on the opposite leg; You still look like you're standing up straight for the most part but one leg is hardly doing anything.) So could that be possible to do all while having literal body weight hanging off the side of the bike too?

I am Still in astonishment of how  complex the background of his name is...

Lol mine was made 10+ years ago and Ollie wasn't available so I added a "U" in front of it... Pretty deep stuff.

I wonder if there will be auto lean like in GP bikes, but maybe it will be a counter lean with weight on opposite peg type stuff. That would be fine with me honestly until I mastered the controls well enough to start riding with manual lean.

But you ride over the same line enough times and you still get a deep rut. It's just a different displacement than dirt. What I'm more interested in, is how the traction will be different from what we know in MXS. I never feel like my tires are really hooking up, more so that I'm just gaining inertia.

Hopefully there will be tacky feeling dirt that you actually need throttle control to keep the front end down. One thing I love to do is pick up the front wheel and wheelie over a single and let the back end force the front down as opposed to just jumping the single. It's so much easier in real life than MXS to do that lol.

If anyone watched indy sx last weekend, its what Cianciarulo was doing in order to hit the quad in that one rhythm section.
