Thanks and excuse my ignorance, I didn't realize there was a thread dedicated to this.

Hi there, I bought the game back in 2015 and no longer have access to the original email or Paypal account I used to buy it. I was hoping to have my key transferred to a steam key.  is this possible?

You have to be accelerating while leaving the face of the jump,  not accelerating or leaving the face while hitting the rev limiter will cause your front end to drop.  This can be counteracted in the air by holding full throttle which lowers the rear tire.  Your trajectory through the air is determined on the face of the jump so throttle control is key.  Increasing rebound damping in the rear will also reduce the bikes tendency to lower the front.

I always thought a soft rear wheelies easier because of the massive weight shift under acceleration.

I find a few mouse clicks will bring the screen back with enough time to accept.

Setups / Re: What is your first person view settings

I use helmet cam,
FOV 110
tilt 0
pitch 0

I used to use pitch 45 but found I woulds be looking towards the ground when leaning forward,  pitch 0 seems to remedy this.

Setups / Re: Protip: "Linearity" in controller setup.
December 06, 2017, 04:35:50 PM
I may be the oddball but I find the controls much better with linearity 100%.  It allows you to use muscle memory a little better as you can properly judge how much more input will be needed.  It's not easy to judge how much will be given if the first 25% throw gives 10% braking power and the next 25% gives and additional 20% or 30% ( I know these numbers aren't accurate but it's just for representation purposes).  As you increase a control you are adding a multiplier to it which our brains can't accurately learn and predict as it is not linear.

Adding different linearity settings is just a bandaid masking poor controller inputs, it might seem a bit easier at first but will hinder you in the long run with unpredictable inputs.

Too much throttle and brake problems should be remedied by learning to be more precise and altering the bike setup to suit.

I use a dual shock 4 controller

left stick: Bike Lean L/R
left stick: Rider Lean F/B
Right stick: Rider lean L/R
Right stick: up Throttle
Right stick: down with high deadzone rear brake
L2: clutch
L1: shift up
R2: front brake
R1: Sit/Stand
Right analog click: Shift down
Select: Reset Bike
Start: Start engine
dpad up/down: low speed(walking)
Square:look back
Triangle: tear off

I've been playing for a few years and experimented with lots of different controller setups.  I like this one the best, it seems to give the most bike control and allows you to easily use the front brake while also on the throttle.

I use rider lean at 200% linear to exaggerate the lean(more rider lean with less stick input)
for all other settings I use 100% linear and set front brake gain 125

Direct steer 100% is good if you are very precise with the controller inputs,  if not use something a little lower.  The lower the setting the more the bike will remain in a lean when the controls have been released.

Make sure to turn off Auto Dab in the settings as it will try to counteract certain maneuvers and will dab as you lean on the face of a jump for a whip.

The controls are very sensitive so make sure you set rider and bike lean deadzones or you'll find it very twitchy.

Here's a work around....but keep in mind that Piboso disabled the option for a reason.

locate the MX bikes folder in "my documents" then open "profiles" folder, then your profile name folder, in this folder you will see profile.ini open that with and text editor and look for the lines stabilityhelp=1   and  stabilityhelp_scale=1.000000 , changing the stability help 1 to a 0 will disable it completely but using a decimal place instead of the 1 in stabilityhelp_scale will giev you a percentage, example stabilityhelp_scale=0.600000 will be 60%

Also make sure you don't have any other controllers plugged in.

if you added OEM bikes you also need the Tyres files to go along with the bikes.  They should be put into a "tyres" folder in the same derectory as the "bikes" folder.

I find leaning backwards on takeoff helps.

Username changed  :)

I like what you've done.

Would there be any way to enable the ability to switch bikes while at the track on practice mode?  This would help advanced riders with testing as well as new players figuring out which bike works best for them.
