In the ini of the stock straight rhythm track there is
[race]
straight_rhythm=1
The starting gates seem to be the start and the start/finish line the finish like you have it.

Tracks / Re: Trouble downloading certain tracks

Have you unpacked VelkyOsek (for example) or just copied the downloaded file into your track folder?

Support / Re: Install error

Do you keep the standard installation path? One thing I thought of is that if you install it to for example "c:\games\mxb" and the folder "games" doesn't exist, it will just create the desktop shortcuts but not install anything.

The .ink file on the desktop doesn't start the game? The standard installation path changed to "Program Files" (see here). Are you looking in the right folder?

Also if nothing helps you can open the installer with 7-Zip for example and put the files where you need them. Or you can create a shortcut for the installer and add -extract to the path (see here). Starting the shortcut should create a .zip-file with the content of the installer.

I tried putting the left trigger and right for throttle but my Xbox controller doesn't let me press on the twobat the same time, so my clutch is on square..

You can use the Xinput plugin to get indepentend triggers.
If you don't have a stick free you could also try the steering stick vertical axis for the clutch for example (with a deadzone to not accidently pull the clutch).

For shaders have a look here: http://docs.piboso.com/wiki/index.php/Track_Creation_Rules#Shaders.
In the fbx2edf converter you might need to activate "recalculate" to get the normal map to work. (I usually have it activated.)
Try it out and also try to use the forum search a bit. You could even use the GP Bikes forum or the Kart Racing Pro forum as well.
Report back when you're stuck somewhere.

You need to apply the textures in Blender. Do they show up there?
Also the fbx2edf converter should give you a message when textures are not power of 2 or missing for example. Do you get any?

Bug Reports / Re: Deadzone (Setting)

Have you found a solution for your controller settings?
Deadzone should work for both lean and rider lean (forward/backward and left/right). At least it does for me (xbox360).
Are you using xinput? (http://forum.mx-bikes.com/index.php?topic=164)

Documentation / Re: Live Timing
March 18, 2016, 01:23:20 PM
Ah ok, here you have to connect to the server that sends the information (track, players, split times and so on) to you. UDP is used for that.
I don't know about your "qualifications". Are you just looking for some example code or how to do it at all?

This is a bit blur,
Do you have an exemple somewhere to allow me doing something like I did here : MXS LiveTiming

Could you be a bit more specific? I just started trying around with this, maybe I can help.
What have you tried so far? And what did you have to do to get your site to work with MXS? (By the way your link doesn't work as it is.)

Bug Reports / Re: Resolution
March 03, 2016, 10:05:27 PM
I only tried "Borderless Gaming" so far (https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases). I tried version 8.2 (without admin) with MXB and it worked fine.

Do you change the resolution and fullscreen in the mxbikes.ini or the profile.ini?

Weird indeed. Hopefully PiBoSo has at least a rough idea what the problem is.

So it appears I am still having this issue. the only way i can navigate the menus is by editing the .ini to force windowed mode, which is not ideal as its a blurry mess. I have manually adjusted resolutions, done it through the in-game menu, disabled v-sync in the nvidia control panel as suggested by gdub, turned off nvidias DSR, tried alt-enter when in-game...nothing. The screen appears properly scaled; ie not blown up too large to access menus, but my mouse is bound to an invisible box no matter what resolution i choose unless I un-check fullscreen, which dissallows any menu navigation. Super weird and frustrating as this only happened as of B3/B4. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Recently on the GP Bikes forum somebody posted a solution that solved a similar problem for him.
http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2684.msg50046#msg50046
I'm just not sure he's talking about changing the Windows resolution or the size of desktop contents separately or something different.

Also some people already had problems like this with tv screens. PiBoSo already knows about and said the only solution at the moment is to run the game in windowed mode.
(forum.kartracing-pro.com/index.php?topic=5480.msg)

And what do you mean by "a blurry mess"?
Do you know programs like "Borderless Gaming"? Would this be an option/help?

Try editing the full screen value in the same mxbikes.ini. Under the resolution it says fullscreen=1. Change the value from 1 to 0 and save and restart Mx bikes

Wow, i cant believe it was that simple lmao. well the sizing is fixed, so thank you so much! BUT is there a way to make the game windowed?

Did fullscreen=0 not change to windowed mode for you?

Track Editing / Re: FBX converter
December 19, 2015, 11:41:25 AM
Strange ... I tried to reproduce, so I created a box in Sketchup, applied textures, exported as .dae, used Blender to convert to .fbx and then converted to .edf. This worked with the .bats. Then I tried the Autodesk Converter (downloaded fbx20133_converter_win_x64.exe) to convert to fbx and it also worked. I left "Destination Format" at "FBX 2013 ..." and tried both ASCII and Binary (with Blender ASCII is necessary). There always was the box on the map at the end. Maybe a few things you could try:

  • convert the .fbx to .map and use map viewer to see what is in there and if there is something strange already
  • look for another tool to convert or try the one TheFatController mentioned
  • try Blender to convert
  • generally I would start as easy as possible (a plain small heightmap, one layer) to see what exactly might be wrong and to have a short conversion time
I hope you can take something out of this.
