Manual overwrite of rider auto movement not working as it should?

If you have left/right rider movement and then try to overwrite with manual input the rider does not move properly. It is clear to see in 3rd person view (although I always ride 1st person). Stand still, lean rider left and right with "Auto" on in settings, rider does not move as he should. Turn off "Auto" left/right and the rider moves.

Don't know if it's just the visuals, meaning that the rider actually moves but we just can't see it, or if he doesn't move "for real". Does not seem to be the same problem with forward/backwards overwrite.

Currently the manual rider L/R lean is disabled when set to auto (but not in the air). We shall look into changing this.
